There's a line between love and manipulation.

Does it move? Can you spot it?
Christmas Eve, 1973:  My new hospital roommate wastes no time calling her adult children:  I know it's Christmas Eve, and I certainly don't want to interrupt your time with your wife and children, ...

Friends, Have you taken this brief survey yet? Spare a few minutes to help me research my next book and be entered into a drawing for a $75 Amazon gift card. Such a deal! Please share and repost. Thanks!
Can you help me tell a better story in my next book? It's a true-life story--the story of how we love within our very own big messy stretched-across-generations families. Helping is easy! We've cre...

Note to self: Butt out.
Sometimes I wish, our friend says, lowering his voice and leaning toward my husband and me as we share breakfast at a local cafe, that my mom would remember that we're the parents now. I nod, my si...

Sometimes we can't outrun the pain.

Maybe we shouldn't.
So how was your Mother's Day? Well, my mom and my daughter are both in the hospital, so . . . . My friend's voice faded to nothing. Nothing. Like the postmark on an envelope that never was m...

It reflects so poorly . . .
Last Christmas I requested a new magnifying mirror. Applying mascara was becoming more challenging every day. A mirror with higher magnification would surely make my mornings less stressful....

Conked on the head with a humble stick? It's all about Mount Hermon Christian Writers Conference, with a special assist from Kathy Ide, Author/Editor.
Tomorrow I leave for Mount Hermon.  Mount Hermon is Christian-writer-speak shorthand for the Mount Hermon Christian Writers Conference. It's a bona fide big deal. It's a place that makes me ...

RSMPT has seen me through rehab after three different orthopedic surgeries along with several courses of treatment to improve my back's function. I could go anywhere. I come here because every staff member is skilled, compassionate, and caring. I recommend RSMPT whenever the opportunity presents itself.

My husband and I stayed here three nights when we traveled to Oregon to attend graduation at the University of Oregon. I could not have improved one little thing. It was really that impeccable. The sense of well-being settled on me the moment we arrived on the property. Every detail of the common areas and our room was intentional and gorgeous. Different matching coffee mugs every morning in our room? Yes. Understated, warm, thoroughly executed style that said, "relax. unwind"? Yes. Charming, knowledgeable hostess? Yes. Privacy respected? Yes. Food that is beyond incredible? Yes, that too. Just go there. Now.
