Brown Sugar Bakery’s rich cakes are the epitome of southern style desserts. Some of Stephanie Hart’s most popular cakes include flavors like caramel, red velvet and pineapple coconut. She says she loves coming up with new things, one being her “Obama Cake,” which is a red velvet, chocolate and yellow cake filled with frosted cream cheese and topped with chocolate and pecans.

Chicago-favorite Chance the Rapper made a follow-up announcement to his generous donation of over $1 million to Chicago Public Schools on Friday. At a press conference held at Paul Robeson High School in Chicago, the Grammy winner announced that he is partnering with Ingenuity, an arts education advocacy organization, to create an arts enrichment program called New Chance: Arts and Literature Fund.

Jurnee Smollett-Bell snagged EBONY’s Women’s History Month cover and took readers on a #FantasticJurnee through her life and commitment to the activism. Though many first fell in love with the actress through her childhood roles on Full House, Cosby, and in Eve’s Bayou, these days she can be seen literally breaking chains and helping others get free on the WGN America hit drama Underground. After meeting the governor of Illinois last week to discuss school funding, Grammy winning artist Chance the Rapper is putting his money exactly where his mouth is. During a press conference at Westcott Elementary School on Chicago’s South Side, Chance announced he was donating $1 million to help support art and enrichment programs at the city’s schools.
