Scala Network is brand new to me.  I found it through Strategic Storyteller Lisa Horvat. Scala has some interesting workshops and a newsletter. See below.

Lisa is interesting too. Her husband Frank Horvat is a pianist - and Lisa has designed a Presi presentation that runs while Frank plays. The presentation tells the story of the tunes that Frank plays.

I just 'unfriended' someone on LinkedIn because they kept endorsing me and they really didn't know me. This led me to start looking at other LinkedIn 'useability issues'. The medium isn't the problem - it's the messengers. Some thoughts on how to play nice on LinkedIn and keep it a useful tool - from my blog. ~Heather

This post was a long time coming - it's an update on Google AdWords from a post in July 2012. PPC is a great way to promote your business and Google AdWords is one way. Here's an insight into how it works and features for anyone running a small business ... ~Heather

Still commenting on newsletters...

Attached is the January issue of 'Common Sense Analytics' from Clickinsight. A couple of great articles, including one that gives a birds-eye view on the changes (upgrades?) to the Google Analytics interface.

If you're like me and use Google Analtyics as just ONE tool but wouldn't identify yourself as an 'Analytics Ninja' I'd make the ClickInsight blog a regular read.

For me, they simplify, clarify and provide useful tools and insights into analytics.

Admittedly I am quite possibly the last person to have stumbled upon this great piece of content marketing from LunaMetrics.  Repurposed for my circles and easy to use - it's the definitive Social Media Sizing Chart. No more squeeze, shove and wonder why it don't fit ...

Cheers to LunaMetrics and anyone else who creates useful content and shares!

From my blog: KYC - Know Your Customer. If there's one thing that the Toronto Boat Show knows about their customers is that they love their boats. Do you know what makes your customer tick?

When discussing social media, I think it helps by telling 'stories' of successes and experiences. So, this post has a few interesting stories including how a denturist is promoting his brand on Facebook and how a hardware accessories manufacturer prefers Pinterest and why.

Boat Insurance isn't exactly a hot topic on social media channels but still you have to admire the ingenuity of Skippers' Plan who is reaching out to boaters asking for their input. I think it's a reflection on the progressive view of the President.

Just completed a major Joomla upgrade. More painful for the web developer than for me actually. For content managers, Joomla has added a few new tools to make it a little slicker - but it sure ain't Word Press.

Another Common Sense Analytics Newsletter from ClickInsight. What caught my eye in this issue, is the SEO Ranking  infographic. It gives tips and tools that should be used onsite, offsite and most importantly what NOT to do! Each tool is framed by a box that is scaled to reflect the method's/tool's importance. Great visual.
