I loved it! Just have to reiterate how much I did. Have been looking for a decent breakfast place after moving to Boston and after looking for a year, I finally struck gold! The morning only hours are also reminiscent of small town diners and the staff are just as friendly!! And if you are a breakfast food lover I would suggest getting the I'm a lumberjack menu option! There are also daily specials!

Behold. My favorite corned beef hash of all time resides at Renee's cafe. Tucked away from the violence and danger of Ball "breakfast mecca" square - Renee's does it right. We know the ladies who work there and they know us. They cook an over easy egg perfectly and keep the coffee coming. I don't need to wait in line for some subpar french toast or crap pancakes when I can get everything made from scratch and quality ingredients at Renee's. Cash only, but who cares? It's a tiny local establishment aren't we supposed to be carrying around more cash anyways? I'm fiercely loyal to Renee's as a Saturday or Sunday morning breakfast spot.

Really bad customer service here. The hostess has a terrible attitude and has a nonsensical way of helping to seat parties on the weekends. Also, the food is blah and tastes like it has all been cooked on the same greasy griddle that has never been cleaned. Between the terrible hostess who will ruin your brunch and the blah food, you're definitely better off going to Ball Square places!

I had the lumberjack breakfast. The eggs, potatoes, and bacon tasted like they were all cooked in the same reused oil. And you can't pat the oil off the potatoes? I think people like this place for the hip and trendy look. It's got that "hole-in-the-wall feel, but hey, our waiters have retro hair" style,. The coffee was so-so. It had a slight taste of dirt - like the mug or pot hadn't been washed in awhile. I honestly think IHOP does a better breakfast.

Great local diner. Standard diner selections as well as more interesting options. Well recommended!

This is the first place we think of for breakfast. Even on it's worst day it's better than most options in the area. It's not particularly expensive unless you think IHOP's food is edible. The coffee is always good, and the eggs benny, corned beef hash, and the ole omelet are consistently good. It's a small place and it's popular, so if you don't like to feel crowded or don't like to sit near families with little kids, this might not be the place for you. I don't like kids or crowds with my breakfast, but great food always trumps atmosphere.

Everything you could ever ask for in a neighborhood breakfast joint. Cash only, and only open wed-sunday- but the best corned beef hash, eggs bennys, and omelets around.
