Tile industry: Changes will be made in vehicle checking rules
Thiruvananthapuram 10-07-2014: The meeting chaired by CM has decided to bring in changes to the existing rules related with vehicle checking that carry raw materials related with production of tiles.
Order will be issued that no permit form is necessary for bringing raw materials from outside Kerala. Declaration from Sales Tax check post will be accepted. CM said that, this would be allowed only if there is no change in the route mentioned in documents and other norms. After proper checking, there is no need to recheck the goods. CM also made it clear that security will be given to goods from check post to the work site.
CM said that certain changes are under consideration regarding rules for procuring soil from within the state limits. If needed an all party meeting will be called to discuss the same, said the CM.
Accidents are happening as the holes are not filled from where the soil is being taken. This has lead to wide spread protest. CM said that the stand of Government is to go forward protecting the industries that are running at present. Those who are engaged in pottery making will be excluded from mining rules. CM has directed that the geology department should issue orders in this regard.
Ministers PK Kunhalikutty, Aryadan Muhammad, Adoor Prakash, KP Mohanan and others were also present.
