Great lounge/cocktail bar- interesting theme and interesting cocktails, esp the signature Pegu Club Cocktail. The food is pretty good too- try the tempura and the Duck bites. However, their attitude can range from being indifferent to snooty- esp the hosts. The serving staff is generally more friendly.

A climb up the stairs transcends you: above the fray of of the 21st century SoHo, back to colonial 19th century British Empire Burma. Imaginative cocktails, muddled and shaken by bow tie clad bartenders. The best $15 cocktail anywhere.

Loved the old Cuban. Staff was super friendly. The place could use a touch up tho!

I come to Pegu for their early Sunday jazz evenings. It's a nice lounge set up in a railroad style. There are semi-private booths at the entrance as you walk up the stairs and a long bar with mixologists. The drinks are well made and have a touch of class. It is not a place for cheap drinks. Their food is also delicious and comes prepared as if from a proper kitchen rather than from a place that serves "bar food" It's a place for a small intimate group of friends or a nice date spot.

Great Bar in Manhattan. It is a little bit old school and not too large but I like the atmosphere. They provide a great selection of different cocktails and some beers, even a little bit of bar food is available. We have been there on a sunday evening and there was great live jazz, even swing dancing was possible!

Great place! The bouncer was really nice, and the hostess was able to seat us within 5 minutes on a busy Saturday night. Only complaint was the music was a little loud, making it hard to talk to the people at the end of our table but definitely not a deal breaker. ** THE DUCK BURGERS ARE A MUST, THEY ARE AMAZING!!!

Sunday nights are great here because they have a live jazz trio or quartet and the ambiance is excellent! Drinks here are unique and delicious. Small plates are expensive, but good. They do not serve meals, so don't come hungry, but it is a cocktail paradise. Also, a dimly lit room makes for a cozy atmosphere.

On Sundays, Glenn Cryter performs with his band. The jazz music and ambiance is wonderful. Pegu is the perfect, cozy spot for jazz music in New York City.
