Sunday nights are great here because they have a live jazz trio or quartet and the ambiance is excellent! Drinks here are unique and delicious. Small plates are expensive, but good. They do not serve meals, so don't come hungry, but it is a cocktail paradise. Also, a dimly lit room makes for a cozy atmosphere.

On Sundays, Glenn Cryter performs with his band. The jazz music and ambiance is wonderful. Pegu is the perfect, cozy spot for jazz music in New York City.

Have spent two birthdays here! This past Saturday I was able to spend an amazing birthday here with friends. The warm and inviting atmosphere made my birthday extra special. Wonderful drinks, ambiance and music. Look forward to going back again with friends.

Very nearly perfect, uncomfortable ruminations on colonialism aside. If you aren't careful, you can end up unintentionally spending the greater part of evening here, having only stopped in for "just a drink." The seafaring inspired drinks in particular are fiendishly addicting, and the effortless appeal of the decor will make you forget that each askance look is meant to dissuade you from smugly slinking further into your chair. You're no young Ian McKellen, mind you.

I come to Pegu for their early Sunday jazz evenings. It's a nice lounge set up in a railroad style. There are semi-private booths at the entrance as you walk up the stairs and a long bar with mixologists. The drinks are well made and have a touch of class. It is not a place for cheap drinks. Their food is also delicious and comes prepared as if from a proper kitchen rather than from a place that serves "bar food" It's a place for a small intimate group of friends or a nice date spot.

Excellent cocktails, great surroundings and very pleasant service! Look for the small door as it's hard to find but worth hunting for!

Find the small glass door with the red lion and go upstairs to enjoy great jazz music, dances, tasty cocktails and great filled eggs! I had a blast with my friends and the waitress was super friendly.

Now this is the kind of bar you'd see the cast of Mad Men at. Dark, red, asian influences, lots of wood and absolutely out of this world cocktails that are classy and flavorful. The ambiance is classy and warm, but not intimidating; the most apt word to describe this place is cool, not with it's modern meaning, but in the way James Dean would have meant it.
