Get Your Root Access For Google Pixel Phones: It was just three days ago that Chainfire obtained root access on his Pixel and then a day later he achieved root with a systemless method and DM-verity switchable. He said at the time that it would take him a bit of work to package it up into a nice easy package for us average … The post Get Your Root Access For Google Pixel Phones appeared first on Ausdroid. #AndroidPhones #Modding #ausdroid

Add Google Pixel-Like Fingerprint Gestures To Your Phone: Most phones these days have fingerprint readers on them but manufacturers often only use them to unlock the phone and for in-app security (such as Play Store purchases, unlocking bank app etc). Some enterprising manufacturers such a Huawei with the Honor 8 have started adding the ability to perform various actions via gestures on the … The post Add Google Pixel-Like Fingerprint Gestures To Your Phone appeared first on Ausdroid. #AndroidPhones #Modding #ausdroid

+Google Play music is really really bad for finding new music... Looking for new metal to try out and all there is now is a rock section? What happened to all the metal sub genres that were there before? Keith richards next to children of bodom? 2 rows above Bryan adams was mixed in there. Not really selling it very well Google. Your app is getting worse. Rod Stewart? Wow... Just terrible... How dods everyone out there find new music?

We spent a lot of time fine-tuning the #NexusCamera . Here are 5 things you need to know.  #Nexus5X   #Nexus6P

1. Low light… no problem
The new Nexus Camera is the best we've ever put into our phones and is especially great in low light settings. The 12.3MP imaging sensor has large 1.55 micron pixels and a wide aperture F/2.0 lens -- this allows it to run shorter exposure times for less motion blur. For example, the Nexus 6P has 92% more light collection efficiency than the original Nexus 6. We also chose a closed-loop autofocus technology and a laser detect autofocus system, which uses a time-of-flight IR laser to enable fast autofocus in low light conditions. Finally, the HDR+ mode now automatically kicks in during low light.

2. Improved HDR+
HDR+ takes a burst of photos and then uses computational photography to create a better photo in tricky conditions like low light and strong backlighting (HDR means High Dynamic Range). This year we've improved HDR+ by starting from RAW images, just like a high-end SLR. This ability to shoot in RAW is available to any developer through the Camera2 API, so we expect to see a raft of amazing camera apps that run on these devices.

3. DxO score of 84
The DxO score of 84 for Nexus 6P makes it the third highest rated phone camera ever. In low light environments, the Nexus 6P outperforms all the other phones we’ve tested in terms of brightness, detail, less noise, and better balanced exposure and tone mapping.

4. A faster camera is a better camera
Quality is great but speed is essential to make sure you get the right shot. The new Nexus Camera opens fast with just a double tap of the power button. The whole camera stack was optimized to make this one of the fastest launching phone cameras out there. We’ve also sped up shot-to-shot time and updated the user interface to make all the most common and urgent actions fast and easy.

5. Smarter bursts
When you press-and-hold the shutter button on the Nexus 6P, Smart Burst analyzes a stream of 30 photos per second, and uses computer vision and machine learning to select the best (up to 8), saving you work and storage space. It also highlights the best shot and automatically generates an instant-creation that best captures the entire scene, either an animated GIF, a photo-booth collage, or that perfect group shot.

Gotta love +Google Maps and the fun they have... Makes me wonder if this is one of their 20% projects or did they actually hire someone (also the light sabre noise when hovering over the volume bar in YouTube... That one is annoying though)

Parallel parking the x-wing was tough.
