BatteryLife/Root/ROM/Kernels  -

So I disabled location services to get rid of the Google services wakelock, and rebooted my phone this morning, the wakelock is gone, but my phone no longer reports my screen in the battery stats, I'm going to reboot my phone again before the next full charge but this seems odd. COS12, stock

Not sure how many people use the protected/hidden apps function, but I found a simple way to bypass it at least on cm11s/trebuchet 1.0. Simply searching a protected app in Google search will not only return the app in the results but also allow you to open it without having to unlock it. I assume this is due to the app being protected only at the level of the launcher and not at a system level, but just thought I'd put this out there for people to know.

moto x²  -

So +Motorola Mobility I got my 2013 moto x after new years last year (when the price was reduced to $400) and in the last week had a display problem pop up. I'm sure I'm probably SOL since my warranty would've been up last month but I'm wondering if anyone else has had the following issue. On the right side of my screen I appear to have gotten some burn in but it doesn't seem to be from an image burn, instead, based on the pattern, it looks like some of the circuitry got hot and damaged the display panel leaving dark blueish gray shadows in straight lines and right angles on my screen. It's still usable, but a bit of a nuisance, I'll try to get a picture to show the exact appearance, but it's definitely strange. Has anyone else documented something like this? If my phone is overheating like this is it still safe to use?

Edit: attached picture

Alright I've heard there's a battery life glitch in 4.4 that can cause slight gradual increases in battery life without charging, but has anyone seen it spike like this? I swear I haven't charged it today

That's not a factor for the spike.

I see all the fun cases and bamboo backs and such, and with every post I think, "yea, but no one else has my custom Frozen edition back cover!"

Just curious if anyone else has noticed this, I listen to music on my phone a lot at work and use lock screen music controls a lot, but I've noticed that if I use double tap to wake my lock screen music controls don't work, if I unlock with the power button they work fine. Running cm11s completely stock.

Alright I'm on 4.4.2 and last night got hit with my first really bad android os battery drain (something terrible like 1.5 hours screen on with 15 hours on battery to be down below 10 percent) after plugging my phone in last night I just did a quick reboot and now I'm at 44 percent after 12+ hours on battery with 2.5 hours screen on. All stock software, no greenify or battery maintenance apps, any idea what could've caused android os to spin out of control for a few hours on me?

Could be faulty hardware with some builds, where as other units work fine with 4.4.2 .. I sent mine back to moto. They in turn sent me a temporary phone. Still getting mediocre battery life.. Almost everything is off on my phone. Only activate specific notifications when necessary. As stated - batch of units might have rolled out, that is not working well in conjunction with 4.4.2

Anyone think we could convince +T-Mobile to release a Wi-Fi calling app to the play store? For us t-mobile customers who don't buy phones directly through them

+Spencer Petersen The thing is, why bother with groove ip to use Google voice over wifi? Why not just use regular cell connection? The only advantage I see to using Google voice on wifi is if you're travelling in a foreign country

Running Franco on my gsm gnex, but need to revert to a stock boot IMG before I can update ota, Google has pulled the jop40d build from their factory images site, anyone know where I might be alert to find jop40d or at least a stock boot image from it my update is waiting but will fail if I try to install it with fk running

I had the same problem. Finally I made a backup, did a full wipe and installed 4.2.2, rooted and loaded FK (all this on the GNex, N4 and N10). It took me some time but a full wipe doesn't do no harm.
