Highly overpriced food for the quality! For the amount of money we paid per plate, I was expecting a little more food. The party I was with ordered crab cakes and those were very fresh and delicious. The waiter was somewhat pushy and not very informative. Oh, and did I forget to mention the rat we saw? It ran across the base board under a booth. When I brought it to the waiter and manager's attention, they were saying it happens sometimes because there's a field close by and they were moving things around in their storage room. When I asked if he was trying to say it came from the storage room where the food is kept, he said they had left the door open so it must have come from outside. :) We will Never go there again, and will be reporting them to the health inspector, who obviously needs to do a surprise visit on this place.

Nice waiter, the food was terrible and over priced, it was the Sunday brunch and I payed $130 plus tip, for two kids, my wife and my self, the food quality was bad, it is way to expensive. I will never go back and I would never recommend this place to any one.

I attended a real estate networking event last night at Ferrari of Austin that was catered by The Grill. The food was so good I'm tempted to make a trip to San Antonio just to eat at the restaurant. I especially loved the shrimp flautas and tempura shrimp.

In the past, I have dined at The Grill at least half a dozen times and the service has been OK, but my experience on August 28th, 2014 was the worst. I had made reservations and was punctual. I was celebration, with my good friend, her 80th birthday. This was her first time to The Grill. When we arrived, the place was not busy. We were waited on immediately, but after that, simply forgotten. We ordered non-alcoholic beverages and salads to start with. Twenty minutes later, we finally received our salads. At that time, two tables with a party of four each were seated next to us. They started off with bottles of wine. We had finished our salads and were now waiting on our dinners. The two tables not only received their dinners before us but were through eating by the time we received our dinners. We ordered fish and I know that does not take long to cook. We also had to ask three times to get our beverages replenished. Our waiter never came back to check on us. I was so embarrassed for my friend. I was really looking forward to this evening. The food was good but the service was horrible. The Grill will never see a cent of my money again nor will I ever recommend it.

Here's the good... Waitstaff is very pleasant. Wine list is acceptable. Cocktails were tasty! Decor is cute. The miso glazed sea bass was also tasty. Here's the not so good... The calamari was a bit rubbery and under-seasoned. The duck in the duck a la orange salad was not rendered well and frankly tasted like ham. The salad needed acid. Here's the bad... The veal in the veal piccata was completely over cooked to the point of shoe leather! and the piccata was NOT piccata. It was brown and tasted like beef gravy. The tiramisou had NO coffee in it. Here's the ugly... When our meal was over and the manager/owner came by (we had sent several things back to the kitchen) to ask us about our experience, we gave him the highlights (or should I say lowlights) and he told us we were wrong. That his food was impeccably French and that we had no idea what we were talking about. We explained that we had infact traveled extensively in Europe including France and we both knew how to cook. He then said we were just trying to get free food and he can't make money that way. We agreed to disagree and left. Needless to say, we will NEVER go back and would NEVER recommend this restaurant. If you're looking for an elevated cuisine in the SA area try Mike's on the Square in Bulverde. It's not epic, but the chef/owner isn't an ass! IF you do decide to try it anyway, ask to be seated in Rudy's section - He's a very knowledgeable employee and will steer you away from some of the tragically bad menu choices they have.

Always solid. Food is great with variety. And you cab choose your mood: atmosphere with people, dark and romantic or patio with others!

I recently hosted a corporate event at The Grill for a group of our most important customers. It was a HUGE success! The venue was perfect, the service was impeccable, and the menu was exquisite! The team at The Grill is phenomenal to work with- I provided them with a budget and they took it from there. The team was very personable, Armand (one of the owners), personally contacted me to make sure that all of the details were to my liking. In the end, my event at The Grill was (according to some of my customers) the best dinner they had ever attended. Bravo Armand and the Grill!

This is not the first time we have been here to this restaurant; other times the service has been average with better than average food. Great atmosphere and location. Unfortunately, one very poor experience yesterday will prevent us from recommending this place to others, as well as returning to this establishment (now and in the future). EXPERIENCE: wine and food ordered without any help or recommendations from the wait staff, water and wine glasses were infrequently refilled, received a rare steak that no one asked to recook (as we thought it was too much trouble), split our checks (that was nice) amongst the couples at our table and paid for our checks. The night was ruined when one member of our party returned to the table after being assaulted in the restroom by the waiter, Roger (ID 2210), who proceeded to ask for more tip (or specifically, he didn't tip enough on the bill and that he should leave more than 20% on food and wine). Everyone in our party had a problem with this occurrence and brought the issue up with the Manager. However, the manager argued with each one of us and sided with the waiter -- indicating that the waiters do not make much money, have to share with other employees and many of them feel entitled to 20% or more to be tipped on wine and food for "good" service. CONCERN: this should never occur, there should never be an assault by the wait staff to ask for more tip (which I consider completely rude and unprofessional!), "poor" service and poor treatment at any restaurant does not warrant any tip (especially at this restaurant and this instance!); tips should be earned, not considered an entitlement. Tips should be at the discretion of the customer; in hind sight of this situation, I wish I could have taken the tip back. "Good" service should be part of your experience at a restaurant; it actually makes people want to return if yew had a good experience with good food and great company...If we actually had "good" service or had a large party, these would be different points entirely. To argue with the manager that he insisted this was "good" service and to also recommend we all tip more on the food and wine purchase was also not only frustrating but extremely disappointing .... We were not impressed by the actions of the manager and staff, and feel it difficult to ever return or recommend this place anymore.
