Google+ Hangout On Air: Social Media and APHA’s PHACT Campaign

Please join the American Public Health Association (APHA) on Wednesday, July 23 at 2 pm ET for a live interactive session on using social media to advocate for public health through the Public Health Action, or PHACT Campaign and beyond.

The PHACT Campaign is an opportunity to communicate directly with your members of Congress about the importance of public health while they are at home in your congressional district or state. As a constituent and public health advocate, you have a voice and the opportunity to be a public health champion. By learning about the power of social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter, you can begin or partake in a movement for public health and help shape the decisions made by Congress.

The session will feature an exceptional panel of advocacy and social media experts who will share their perspectives and tips on leveraging social media as an effective tool for grassroots public health advocacy. Participants will have an opportunity to participate in a live question and answer session during the event.

The PHACT Campaign action kit ( and website ( offer all of the resources you need to advocate for public health.

This event is free and open to the public.
