TWO LONG ISLAND INSTITUTIONS JOIN FORCES: MAIN STREET WHOLESALE MEATS (A DIVISION OF FARMINGDALE MEAT MARKET) BECOMES OFFICIAL HAMBURGER SUPPLIER FOR THE NEW YORK ISLANDERS’ FINAL SEASON AT NASSAU COLISEUM

 

FARMINGDALE, NY (September 29, 2014) – Beginning this October, Main Street Wholesale Meats—a division of Farmingdale Meat Market—will partner with Nassau Coliseum as the exclusive hamburger supplier for all New York Islanders’ home games as well as other events taking place at Long Island’s most famous sporting arena. Since 1946, Farmingdale Meat Market has been supplying Long Islanders with the best hamburgers, made fresh daily. Now attendees of every Nassau Coliseum event will have the opportunity to enjoy those same burgers.

“We’re so pleased to partner with Farmingdale Meat Market and lifelong Islanders fans Kent and Lee Seelig,” Mike Bossy, Islanders VP of Corporate Partnerships said. “After trying their product, I can’t believe it’s taken us this long to get their burgers to the Coliseum.”

The Seeligs are the father (Kent) and son (Lee) team that run Farmingdale Meat Market and Main Street Wholesale Meats. The company was founded in 1946 by Kent’s father, Julius Seelig. The Islanders’ tradition runs through the
core of the family business as Kent has been a season ticket holder for 35 of the Islanders’ 43 seasons. Additionally, Farmingdale Meat Market was the site of the over-the-counter autograph signings by Clark Gillies, John Tonelli, Pat LaFontaine in the 1980’s and included a visit from the Stanley Cup. “Our family has supported the Islanders since day 1,” said Kent Seelig. “It’s great to work with the team as their official burger sponsor. It’s a real honor.”
