By day I did work for a casino supply company as a Regional Service Manager in my spare time I am an avid Blogger (as well as still doing my day job). A long time ago I was looking for an effective way to communicate to my field based service engineers. Initially I was looking at the old way of maybe a “newsletter” and asked if anyone would be willing to contribute and did they have experience in Microsoft Publisher (Can any one remember or even use that today).
The response was not compelling at all. I am not one to ever give up at anything, so night after night I would explore ways that I could communicate with the field service teams. One day I had a eureka moment, I stumbled across an article about the Blogger platform. My solution was there, I read everything I could on the subject (in a week) then setup an internal blog for the employees.
That very same internal blog is still running today and has had thousands of views and has expanded to include more employees from around the world.
The next stage for me was the discovery of WordPress and the extended and advanced configuration (it is also very easy to use) I started a test site and after many late nights was happy that I should start a live site. That is now running nicely and the readership is growing steadily. As I am now officially a” WordPress Blog Nut ” (If I get the smallest opportunity I will talk about blogging to anyone who even remotely looks awake).
Just the beginning of the future
Things have now moved on and I have set up a company, Living 4 Leisure suppling services myself to the Casino Industry from PR and Social Media to solutions for providing service to their onsite equipment
