Marilyn one of the leasing consultants is an absolute nightmare. She seems to play favorites based on, as far as I can tell, nothing but appearance. Anytime I have asked any simple question of her I haven't been given an answer. "Well that's just the way it is" is the closest I've gotten. We no longer need a cosigner due to our (my girlfriend and i) income increasing but we're told when we went to renew that we would indeed still need a cosigner which wasn't a problem. But when he asked her why he still had to cosign Marilyn told him he could sign it or we could find a new place to move. Her messiah complex needs to be kept in check. I have dissuaded several people from renting here. The price may seem worth it but you better make sure you stay on Marilyns good side. Which again as far as I can tell is pure luck.

My son and his roommate found the leasing staff very friendly and helpful. Remembered their names when they came in a couple of months later. The apartments are older, but well maintained. The grounds are well groomed and very nice. The price was much better than other places they searched. It was also a bonus that you can lease just for 9 months (the school year) and not have to pay for the summer if you aren't staying in town.

The only good thing is the price. The staff have been nothing but rude to me and my roommate. My roommate and I are young women in college, and they try to lie to us thinking we'll fall for it because of our age. When we signed a lease, Aspen Leaf gave us the wrong price for our two bedroom unit, and instead gave us the price of a one bedroom unit. We had been living in our apartment for a month when they first called my father (he's a cosigner) and told him we "had to rewrite the lease." When the front desk lady called me, she again tried to tell me that we "had to rewrite the lease." I told her I would talk to my roommate and she told me not to talk to her until she did, as if I wasn't going to speak to the person I live with.... I met with a lawyer who told me we did not have to rewrite the lease. Aspen Leaf stopped bullying us after I told them I received legal advice on the situation, and that we would not be paying more. Furthermore, the AC unit has broken three times in our unit and each time they've tried to bully us into believing it's our fault. It's not our fault, we've always followed the instructions on temperature settings, etc. When we've turned in a check late, they demanded we pay the late fee. This would normally not be an issue, but our neighbors have never had to pay a late fee even after turning in a check a week late. I believe they discriminated against us because we refused to pay more for the unit and rewrite the lease months prior. Basically they're all just rude. If you can avoid any sort of communication with any of the people in the leasing office, you might make it through your lease alright. The maintenance crew and the woman who cleans the buildings are actually all very polite. Not really sure how they manage to stay nice given the staff they're working under.

My husband and I have been living here since March '13 and love it. We are only moving now out of necessity, otherwise we would stay. The rent was very affordable when we moved in, but is rising now that the new mall is being built across the street. The walls are very thin but we have never had a problem with it. The office is amazing at getting your maintenance request fulfilled immediately, I have never had to wait longer than a couple hours. The grounds are also kept very clean and the snow is cleared in the parking lot. The only problems we've ever had were when a maintenance request from another apartment was completed in ours, so they entered our apartment without our permission at that time. That has only happened once. We've also not enjoyed the smell of cigarette smoke in the hallway, but it is downstairs by the mailbox and we live on the 3rd floor so it has only been a minor annoyance. Marilyn in the apartment complex can be very rude sometimes. She will remember your name and is sometimes really pleasant, but if she's frustrated in any way you'll know it when you talk to her. If you pay the rent on time, keep the noise level down and follow the quiet hours, you will love living here. We don't move for another week so if anything negative comes from the moving out process I will update this review to reflect that.

Most of the staff was nice enough (not all, but most) My only complaint is that the walls were paper thin. You can actually hear the conversation (without even trying) that you neighbors are having. Also it was a little pricey for what you get!

Not a bad place. Management is very active at fixing things and maintaining the property, although the apartments feel a little dated. It's also a decent value.

I have lived at Aspenleaf for a year. The units come in a variety of conditions so your experience depends on the unit you get. The one I have is a two bedroom. The carpets are in surprisingly good condition, but I am in a recently remodeled unit. Whenever my roommate and I have had problems the office has fixed them quickly. We had a roof leak that was fixed the same day we called. Same for a broken toilet and broken bathroom fan. They're older buildings, but ours was well-maintained. I like the folks that live in Aspenleaf. Less College, more real-life folks.Generally it looks like folks live there for consecutive years, which is also why the units come a variety of conditions I think. Anyway, not 5 star apartments, but decent for the price of a two bedroom. Probably not as good a deal for a one bedroom.
