Interesting new offering from Amazon to virtualize the desktop. Though I think it may be missing the benefits of a ChromeOS employee desktop as it looks like all desktops need to be Windows or Mac which needs management of some kind. Perhaps if they had a USB/CD book to Linux that then would connect to AWS, it could be better.

Android 4.4 (KitKat) offers lots of good changes for developers with some user improvement. Hopefully more devices will see updates or most new devices will include it. While it should work better on lower powered hardware, did KitKat need a wow feature that users would ask for to encourage the manufacturers to use the new version ASAP for new devices?

Watches could become useful again soon. About 15 years ago my phone / pager replaced my watch as my time keeping device. It was not as convenient to pull out the device to see the time, but life was less busy back then. Now I could see the watch making a comeback if only to let me know my meeting schedule during the day. One use case that could be helpful is the ability to silence my phone from the watch when I'm in a meeting or event without even taking it out of my pocket.

Played around with Amazon Web Services (AWS) recently. AWS really does make it east to set up infrastructure on demand. Will have to spend more time with AWS.
