It's Oprah time! Hugo's back on stage to announce the swag - it's a new Galaxy Nexus phone, a brand new Nexus 7 tablet, the latest OTA of the Jellybean Preview version, and the Nexus Q. Wow.

Here's Google's hugely ambitious goal for Google Glass and its augmented reality technology - to make the information transmission from the AR hardware to the wearer “so fast you feel you know it.”

A little disappointed with what's actually in the package, some aqua blue Google Goggles? Bit of an anti-climax.

Oh, it was incredible, I agree 100 percent - I just thought the package was going to contain the Shroud or Turin or something

Holy cow - Brin's having a Google+ hangout with some guys in a blimp above San Francisco via Google Glass. They're going to to fly down to Moscone in wingsuits, live on Google+!

And that's a wrap! Be sure to check out all the PCMag stories covering the news from today's opening keynote at Google I/O, starting with Chloe Albanesius' report on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean:
Google today unveiled the next version of its Android operating system, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

Brin announces Google Glass Explorer Edition - limited to U.S.-based I/O attendees, not a consumer product. This is $1,500, Google's taking pre-orders now, won't ship the actual units until early next year.

The current Google Glass prototype with its asymmetrical design "weighs less on your nose than many sunglasses" according to Google. Lightness was a key design concern as was comfort and sturdiness - you can wear the Google Goggles while playing sports, etc. without breaking them.

I missed how the whole point of this was to deliver a package to Brin onstage - so now some bikers took it from the skydivers, handed it off to a rock climber guy who rappelled it down to the third floor, now it's on another bike and onstage!

A live Google+ hangout through Google Glass with four dudes parachuting onto the top of the Moscone West building where Brin is speaking to them from stage. Awesome stunt.

Gundotra announces Google+ Events, which works before, during, and after a party, unlike other lamer event organizing solutions that “bail when you need them the most”.

It's deeply integrated with Google Calendar. It's got cinemagraphic themes for invitations, so for a barbecue invite, the fire flickers on a photo of steak on a grill.

Invites go out to email addresses regardless of whether they’re on Google+.  The invite “unfolds” like a physical invitation sent via snail mail. Plugs easily into your Google Calendar.

During the Event – when other event organizing solutions “bail” – Google+ Events fires up a "groundbreaking" feature called “Party Mode.” When you turn on Party Mode, all new photos get added to the event in real time from all attendees who are on Google+.

Those photos stream in on the event’s landing page. There’s also a slideshow view.

After the event, Google+ Events takes all the photos from the party and orders them chronologically.
