The Dark Roots of Thrash II tour makes a mosh pit stop at the legendary Harpos Concert Theatre in the Motor City. Testament and Exodus are considered by many to be among the originators of the thrash metal sound arising from the Bay Area in San Francisco in the early eighties.

Gemini Syndrome is taking back the Rock/Metal industry and returning it to the rightful owners, the fans. I had the privilege to sit down with Gemini Syndrome front man and all around nice guy Aaron Nordstrom for a few minutes before their headlining set at Aftershock in Kansas City, Kansas. Aaron Nordstrom is a impressive and inspiring soul, he s enlightening and has depth in his thoughts.

Chicago-based Dead Rider graced the stage at Firebird, creating an atmospheric night held together by tendrils of slipbeat, poetry, and π. Dead Rider is a solid experimental band with elements of noise that sneaks in through the cracks.

Ate here 02/19/2012 with my wife around 2pm. We both had the same dish, enchiladas, rice and beans, although I had an appetizer of chicken wings with a side of ranch. By the time 10pm rolled around that night, I began suffering the onset of a severe case of food poisoning that almost sent me to the E.R. I am just now recovering enough to write this warning review, and also reported it to the Macomb County Health Department. As for any doubts that this was what made me sick, I was at a party Saturday night where everyone else was eating the same foods and none of them got sick. Beware!

Tried a couple of their offerings. Pizza was decent, typical Michigan style pizza like all the other franchise offerings. Wings were good, nice light crispy flour batter to them with decent sauce. Nuclear sauce is more hot that off the scale hot, ask for the super insane hot. The grinders were packed with meat and cheese, for $5 on an 8" sub you can't go wrong here. Forget Subway, try this place for lunch.

I've given this place a couple tries since it is close to work. While the decor is nice, the place clean, and the service quick, the quality of the food just flat out sucks, especially for the price you pay. I bought a corned beef Reuben which had to have been the toughest, chewiest, rubbery slices of meat I've ever seen. You could literally take the slices of meat and stretch and pull them without even being able to break them apart. There was nothing tender about it at all. The bread was a weak excuse for rye, and the cheese barely qualified as Swiss. Save your money, and get a corned beef from Arby's up the street, it's at least edible.
