Worked at I have been taking photographs professionally for over 20 years. In that time I have had to evolve with every advance in technology and creative technique. It is such an exciting and challenging time to be in the industry. The advent of digital has revolutionised photography as an art form. It has also bought photography and image manipulation to the masses. Every second person now takes photographs and many are trying their hand at creating a living from their hobbies. Digital in some ways made it easier to be a “photographer”, but it still takes a certain level of skill and understanding to truly master the craft. I cut my teeth on film and lived for years in a darkened room, mixing chemicals, printing my own prints and framing them. When I think of where I began, look at where I am now and beyond to the future I am amazed at how far I have come and how far there is still left to go. Every month someone develops an new idea or approach that refines photography just that little bit more. It is these refinements that keep it exciting for me. Photography comes second to my family, I place it that highly. Sometimes it can be frustrating, sometimes depressing, but it is always rewarding if you work hard and want to succeed. This aerial of a market garden near Fremantle in Western Australia reminds me of a cross stitch pattern.

I was drawn last year by an amazing artist Fiona Buchanan. I had forgotten I had this on my computer so thought I would share her talent. This was for the Black Swan Awards. Great work and would I be so bold as to say "great subject matter" hehe

Fellow photographer Denis Glennon is bringing world famous wildlife photographer Shem Compion to Australia for a series of workshops across the country. This will be happening in May this year. See the link below for more details and if you're into wildlife this can't be missed.

Good friends Flemming Bo Jensen and Charlene Winfred are making some awesome websites for people. They are focussing on making sites for photographers that allow them to get their work out there for sale to the buying public. If you are in need of a "magic" site, and lets face it everyone is, get on over and check them out.

Christian has been storm chasing this week trying hard to get THAT shot. He traveled from Dunsborough to Boyup Brook to Donnybrook and kept on going but the storm outpaced him at each town. He did have some fun on the way home playing dodge with the fallen trees though.
Not a happy choppy when I saw him.

So here's one he prepared earlier. Mitchell Rocks south of Yallingup.

Coming this April at my Dunsborough Gallery. I haven't been able to find a suitable date to have an opening night so I am just going to have it appear overnight ready for the 12th of April. So no pressure to come down on the day. You will have a month to see it. So if you are coming down for Easter make sure you drop in.

This looks great on screen but it looked fantastic in the gallery in Mandurah as a large print. Wow it is nice...
