Hi everyone. I feel like all I do is write about psychology and neuroscience these days, and to continue the habit, I've just published a post looking at scientifically-backed ways of training our brains. I've delved through some fascinating studies to come up with a list of seven things you'll be able to build into your daily routine.
Like a muscle, our brains benefit from training in order to stay fighting fit. Here are 7 scientifically-backed ways to give your brain a workout.

Hi everyone! I've written a new blog post that hopefully you'll find helpful. The self-help book market is saturated and frankly, full of a lot of rubbish. However, there are some books worth your time, and this collection of 8 of my own recommendations should prove that to you.

You'd be forgiven for being a little bit cynical about self-help books. This list of eight brilliant examples won't only change your mind about the genre, they may even change your life, too. #selfimprovement

Victor Hugo used nudity as a way of combating procrastination? It's worth a try I suppose... loads of facts about this creative genius in this infographic.

Hi everyone! I've written a blog post discussing a recent study that suggests that we can change our personalities through willpower and goal-setting. This is a surprisingly under-researched area, considering that intuitively it might seem obvious.
Most of us have aspects of our personalities we'd like to change, but did you know that change is possible through sheer will alone?

Hi everyone! I've written a blog post about some recent research suggesting that optimism and pessimism are in fact separate traits, NOT two sides of the same coin, and I give some advice on how we can use this information in our lives.
Pessimism and optimism are not two sides of the same coin. Learn what this means for your outlook on life, and why you should start thinking positively.

Good ideas need time to incubate. So why not procrastinate a while? Do we have the wrong idea about procrastination? In this blog post I try to make the case for why taking longer over an idea - sometimes just leaving your work well alone for a while - may result in better work in the end.
Procrastination may have played an important role in the creation of some of the greatest works by some of the finest minds in history. Here's how.

Digital Marketing Manager at mark-making*
Introduction
My love affair with SEO and online marketing started in earnest when I began working with Zest Digital, an Oxford-based digital marketing consultancy. Since then I've been building up my skills and have taken a keen interest in content marketing - writing great, shareable content and how to market it effectively using outlets such as social media.

I joined mark-making* in January 2013, where I've taken a broader digital & inbound marketing role - still heavily involved in SEO, but focusing on content marketing and conversion rate optimisation to a greater extent, as well as overseeing the social strategy.

I've never had a bad experience at the Thai Shire - delicious food and amazing service. It is one of those places that, despite offering a takeaway service, you must sit down inside to make the most of what makes this place great. I always order one of the set menus which is a feast - I'm usually stuffed by the time the third (main) course arrives. What really elevates the Thai Shire (besides great food) is the incredibly friendly service. I recommend it to everyone that visits Chippy!
