Yes, you really can teach a cat to walk on a leash! In fact, it can be good exercise for them. Some great tips here on the training process. Remember, however, that cats who go outdoors need to be up to date on vaccines and use monthly parasite preventatives to keep them safe. Ask us what you need to do to protect your feline friend.

Did you know that chocolate is toxic to dogs? Did you know that the level of toxicity depends on what kind of chocolate it is? We often get calls about dogs that eat chocolate or foods containing chocolate, and our response depends on the type and amount of chocolate consumed. While this chocolate toxicity meter is interesting, it's best to call us right away so we can determine if your pet needs an immediate exam or not.

Rat bait poisoning is a common problem we see in the hospital. Unfortunately, this poisoning is not always noticed right away by owners because the bait was hidden away, or was forgotten. It is very important to know which type of bait was eaten, as they have different symptoms and different treatments. What an accomplishment!
