This is one of the most beautifully written and touching pieces I've read in a long time. Whether you were for Bernie Sanders or against Bernie, this article is well worth the read. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
To see the endorsement as self-sacrifice for the small crumb of college aid only for low income families is generous. I can't quite get to the point I feel it's enough. I hope the writer is right that tens of thousands of sticks will be wielded, but I can't help but feel that we've been here before as a nation, and those sticks will be dropped because the more pressing need of survival for middle and low income families on a day to day basis do not allow the luxury of holding politicians to heel when they succumb to the siren call of corporate money, lobbying perks, and unlimited campaign contributions.
We had a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and we were cheated out of it by a corrupt and rigged election process. Not because we didn't get enough votes, but because the establishment controls the process and the counting of the votes. Bernie did his best, I won't fault him. Only time will tell if people will remain awake and will continue to fight.
