My favorite Gomez songs feature Ben Ottewell on vocals. Now he has a solo album...so it is all his vocals.

It took some time to appreciate (or not dislike) Craig Finn's talk-singing. But I've been a fan of the Hold Steady for since Separation Sunday. This isn't that good, but I do like it.

I am a fan of the American political process. We have a system of checks and balances. Cooperation and compromise are unwritten cornerstones of our system. So when a spoiled, privileged, bratty, snot-nosed minority decides it is time to force a total shutdown because they refuse to accept the fact that they do not speak for the majority of the population, I get pissed off.

Frankly, I respect the fact that the Tea Baggers feel so passionate about some things. But putting people out of work and endangering the well being of the at-risk because the fat cats paying for your re-election campaign tell you to is pure and utter bullshit. Either work within the system and play by the rules, or go someplace else and be a fucknugget there...you are no longer welcome in my America.

Now to see if the health exchange has a policy that an unemployed person can afford. Yeah, the "Jobs First" plank in the 2012 GOP election platform didn't seem to stick around much past November 6th. Asshats.

I've finally got the concept for my first tattoo. I want the norse tree of life with knotwork at the center with the Vegvisir compass radiating outward. I've attached some examples.

Next step...find the right artist. Anyone know of someone who does this style  well?

Holy shit. Holy shit. Holy shit this video. It's Papa Don't Preach, from the Papa's point of view. This is a real thing that happened. (via Dangerous Minds)

I like their lunch buffet. For 8 bucks you get salad, pasta, pizza, and a soft drink. It isn't the biggest buffet around (normally just cheese, veggie, and meat for pizza options), but it is a decent quality (I actually enjoy their salads).

I can't say that they are the least expensive option. But I do trust them with my car(s). They probably do diagnose more "problems" than a lot of other places, but I think its because they actually look at the car as a whole. And most of the time they are very willing to address only the most important items. Never have I felt forced or coerced into paying for unnecessary services. They almost always finish "on time". They will explain the problems and give estimates on everything. Free loaners available. And if you live nearby and keep the coupon mailers they send out, I think they are reasonably priced.
