As the #EU   #Eurozone  recovery continues all the way into the abyss, the encouraging news is that Brussels remains a bastion of democracy, open-mindedness and liberal (in the original sense of the world) spirited place...oh, except they just agreed to allow everybody to rewrite history if it doesn't suit you... +RT  #OpEdge
For once Brussels has unified Europe, albeit by marrying Kafka with Orwell in a modern day Ministry of Truth.

My latest column for RT discussing the New Development Bank which threatens to challenge the world's development bank hegemony...
The modestly reported Fortaleza BRICS conference delivered a seismic shift in finance: a 21st century economic development as Bretton Woods in the last century.

Discussing that 9 billion dollar US fine of BNP Paribas and what the ramifications may be - more challenges for remittances for starters methinks...my latest #Op-Edge, happy reading:
Clearly BNP Paribas behaved badly. Clearly BNP Paribas behaved badly even according to the somewhat loose grasp on morality held by many bankers.

 #EU

Discussing somebody most people have never heard of who has become obsessive about being an EU President...even though he was deposed as Prime Minister when the Luxembourg secret service ran amok...nope, once again an EU story you couldn't make up...
The Eurosphere is working itself into a wild frenzy about the next commission president.

The "Power of Siberia" and how the energy pivot east is one thing, the big issue is how the dollar will be affected...
The superlatives have flowed as effortlessly as one day the gas will. At a stroke Russia has hugely diversified its energy sales with a $400 billion pivot.

Interesting Polish startup comment - I agree on many points, particularly the need for a broad inclusive approach but alas so many little fiefdoms are created with people battling feudal rivalries when they have little perspective for the big picture... Good article.

The EU has just found a remarkable way to reduce debt-GDP ratios. The wages of sin may be death but they do allow government to spend that little bit more. Apparently. My latest +RT Op-Edge...
Some see the EU as a deranged trip to the dark side of power with fudged up deals in smoke-filled backrooms (well, before clean-air, anti-nicotine directives took effect).

Latest +RT  #Op-Edge - fear not voters, your voice doesn't count - yet - despite the Euro-elections being all about discontent with the #EU
However, rest assured, mere voters are not worthy of consideration when the Brussels elite knows better. Back in the good old days, the West used to look smugly at the gerontocracy in the Warsaw pact, where old men did everything within their powers to control an increasingly restive population.
