The Sidney web site needs to redone in a way that makes it intuitive to find things and allows for the public to interact with the current issues before council. The site can also be used as tool of transparency by having staff and council post expenditures and have the schedules public. I want to see the agendas on the web site have a space to post a comment for each issue. Any by-law, planing document should be able to be edited by the public and allow for discussion and comments.

Council and committee meetings open to the public should be recorded and posted to the web site for those who could not be there in person can still see what is going on. It also helps the public understand the reasoning behind the way a particular person voted.

I would also like to make the interface between the local government and the people simpler and easier to understand. Now I feel like you have to be a lawyer to truly know how it works. Making it is simple language and if possible a few clicks of the mouse to interact, such as get a business license or get help with turning off or on water and sewer.
