Due to financial pressure I returned to the workforce 6 months after the birth of my youngest child almost 5 years ago (OH MY GOD!) and I have been going flat strap ever since!
During these years of trying to balance the work, home, mother, wife thing and still find time for me just wasn't really working, so I let my sewing and creating pursuits fall to the wayside.
This was a major mistake on my behalf as I began to realize that when I didn't allow myself time to create and let color into my life, I slowly lost a very important part of what made me the unique and happy person I usually am.
As I also am a perfectionist in all aspects of my life (which just ain't gonna happen when you live in the real world) and due to the fact I felt I was failing at the whole "Superwoman" image, I slowly slipped back into a depression which I managed to keep under control for a good many years.
Anyway, due to my husbands work we relocated to Barcaldine, which is a lovely little town in western Queensland. I accepted it was time to get some help and take 12 months off from the workforce, so that I could be a mum and begin to create again. My family and I could not be happier!! I love finally having the opportunity to watch my children glow and grow and to rediscover my husband.
My blog "Stitched to Life" is exactly how I believe I am, without creating, especially with fabric I can't live.
