My son has been going to Dr Birk for 9 years. Joey loves and trusts him and so do I. He is always there for us. My son has a congenital heart defect and when he was a baby and I was new to all of it, Dr Birk gave me his home number to call him if I need him. Thankfully I only needed it once:) But he was there for me. I can also email him at the office and he always respondes right away.

When my son is sick, they always give great advice over the phone and make an effort to see him right away if needed. I really like Dr. Birk he's humerous, good with our 18 mth son and gives us the space to ask questions. The front staff can take a long time to answer the phone or your questions, so I'm not as fond of them. But the doctors and nurses are great. They are trying to push you to use all their new web stuff, but I find that there are often technical glitches. For these reasons I'm giving it 4 instead of 5 stars. Overall we're happy.

We went to Dr. Birk for 1 year until our daughter got very sick. We had gone to him and he said to just wait it out. A week later there was no improvement and she was getting very bad. Went in and Dr. Birk told us the same thing and that we were worrying too much. That night she was in the ER with a temp of 104! Not only had he not caught the diagnosis, he hadn't told us proper dosages of medicine for helping her fever. If this was the only problem we may still be going there but he also refused to vaccinate her for some of the recommended vaccines for going abroad! We had to go to another doctor to get the vaccinations. He didn't think it was "necessary" and was very rude to us. I just want my daughter to be healthy and safe and to protect her against potential life threatening diseases, it's not his decision whether or not to vaccinate it's mine. Very disappointed in our experience here especially because he came very highly recommended.

I've been taking my son to Dr. Birk for 5 years now and am very impressed with the quality of care and advice. He takes the time to listen to my questions and really explain what I should be watching for (my son has mild asthma) and what to expect as he gets older. I'm typically a fairly critical, skeptical person but Dr. Birk gets an A+ in my book.

WE LOVE DR. PORTER!!!! He is our favorite pediatrician by far and we praise his work and his ability to communicate well with children, he always makes my daughter feel special. He connects well with her, communicates well with us as parents, and has always been so professional, giving the best advice.... my daughter loves him and looks forward to his visits. She, and my husband and I, trust him very much. If you are seeking a doctor, Dr. Porter is one of the best. (Note that 6 years ago he already had a full roster of clients, so you may have a hard time being able to get his services.)
