Cedric Glasper, President and CEO of Mechanical Rubber Products in Warwick, was honored by the Greenwood Forest Farms Association on Sat., May 19, receiving their Community Service Award during their sixth annual spring luncheon.
"Your leadership as a successful African American businessman in Warwick reflects the goals and academic achievements made by the original residents of Greenwood Forest Farms which helps 'keep the legacy alive'," said GFFA President Paul Kwame in a letter.

Mechanical Rubber is proud to announce that the Appalachian Trail Conservancy will celebrate the official designation of Warwick, NY as its newest Appalachian Trail Community on Sat., June 30. A day-long event is scheduled. The designation is the result of a townwide effort to showcase Warwick's commitment to past and future efforts to promote and protect its 10-mile section of the trail.
Schedule of events: 8-10 a.m.: pancake breakfast at Lions Field in Greenwood Lake; 10 a.m. - meet and greet Thru-Hiking Roundtable at Continental Road; 10 a.m. - Bellvale Farm Tour. 11:30 a.m. dedication ceremony near Bellvale Creamery at intersection of Kain Road & Route 17A; townwide carnival at Veteran's Memorial Park with fireworks at 10 p.m.; nine ongoing hikes during the day, ending before or starting after the dedication ceremony; dinner specials at local eateries; evening concerts at Thomas P. Morahan Waterfront Park in Greenwood Lake & at the Railroad Green in the Village of Warwick.
