Horrible customer service! Based on my past experiences at the spa, I never imagined I would write a bad review. I know sometimes people do make mistakes and it's no big deal. But I cannot even fathom the behavior of the staff at the spa today. They were extremely rude and declined to accept their mistake and accommodate a simple request. I am a long time customer of the spa. I do not live in Austin, so I always book an appointment in advance for my preferred esthetician at the spa, and I and drive 1.5 hours for the appointment. Today, my preferred esthetician was not working. But no one from the spa called me to tell about it. Not knowing that, I drove all the way to Austin only to find it out at the time of my appointment. The lady at the front desk said another equally good esthetician would fulfill my appointment. Even though I felt bad about not being informed, I thought let's get it over with. However, once inside, the new esthetician had no idea what products my regular esthetician was using. She showed me a rack full of beauty products and asked me which ones I was using before. How would I know what my regular esthetician was using? I have sensitive skin and I come here because my esthetician knew what was good for me. Then, I found out that the steamer was not working. When I asked how they are going to complete the service without it, they said the steamer is not needed at all. At this point, I wasn't sure what other surprises lay ahead. So I went to the front desk to complain about these things. The lady at the front desk became very defensive and did not want to do anything about it. I politely asked if I could talk to the manager. She refused to let me talk to the manager saying that she was not supposed to share the manager's information with the customers. If customers cannot talk to the manager, then who else should they talk to? Anyway, I stood my ground and finally she grudgingly relented and called the manager. Finally, I thought I was seeing some light at the end of the tunnel. Little did I realize what it was. The manager Vanessa adamantly said that informing customers about any changes to their appointments was not their "policy" and that they just reassign the customers to whoever was working that day! Also, I was told that the spa is not there to serve according to the customers' lifestyles. She went on and on about how they were offering all these services for a low price and other things, when "price" was not even the reason I was complaining about. All this, just for asking to be informed ahead of my appointment, asking about an inexperienced esthetician they assigned in place of my preferred one and asking about non-working equipment. Wow, it was a nightmare this morning, a complete waste of time. As long as I did not have to deal with the staff other than my preferred esthetician, I was impressed. Not anymore!

I bought a Groupon to go to this spa. Now I am wanting to become a member. Best experience at a spa ever and best massage ever!

Went here with a Groupon worth $60 of services...cashed in on their Oxygen facial and a Brazilian to get ready for swim season. Kat took care of me, and overall it was a very nice experience. I was a few minutes early so the wax wasn't quite ready....which meant my facial was first, then the wax (a little backwards but Kat was apologetic and made sure it was okay with me first). Kat did an excellent job, my skin looks fantastic and she made the waxing as comfortable as possible - though the comfort level for a Brazilian is never very high. I live south so this is a quite a drive for me, but based on my first experience and the prices for some of their other services (very reasonable compared to some more central spas), I plan on making the trek up to Skin Zen again very soon.

My first impression upon entering the spa was great. The receptionist at this location was very friendly and promptly asked if we would like any one of the beverages she mentioned while we were filling out out information forms. The spa lobby was soothing, and comfortable and within minutes we were taken back by our Estheticians for the day. I was taken back to a little changing room, shown a terry cloth wrap/robe and instructed to take my clothes off and place my things in the wire basket that would come along with me. I must admit I was shocked that I needed to take my clothes off for a facial, but after further explanation my Esthetician revealed a neck and shoulder massage would occur, I decided to take everything off from the waist up so as to benefit from the complete process. I wanted to be able to really determine what I thought about the services. My Esthetician then lead me down a short hall to a door with a placard that said "please whisper". We entered this big dim space that smelled of rose and citrus, and was filled with soothing, meditative music. We walked passed several facial stations that were each divided by rice paper-esque half walls for privacy. Everyone was in one big room, but it still felt very private once I got to my station. I was also pleased to see that I would be reclined in a big spa chair and not made to lay on a flat massage table that always aggravates my low back and totally counteracts any relaxing benefits that I'm receiving. I usually have a problem walking when laying on a table for an hour, but their spa chairs were big and perfect! From there, the experience was uber relaxing. Everything was quiet and gentle, and though I'm not much of a public sleeper, I could definitely see myself falling asleep next time now that I know the routine. I had Ashely, and she was super gentle and sweet. She did a fantastic job of making me feel pampered and comfortable. I was pleasantly surprised by the scalp, and hand and arm massages that occurred during the facial. Now, I really would've loved for her to dig in a bit more with the massage, but I had to remind myself she wasn't a masseuse, and it was just meant to be relaxing, not deep tissue work (which I like). As I was receiving my facial, I was deep in thought about how on earth I could possibly afford to get a facial on a regular basis, since after this experience I definitely wanted to come back for more. I was absolutely expecting it to be at least $100 or more if I wanted to come back without a coupon from a bridal show. Hence my surprise upon checking out and discovering that they have membership packages starting at half of what I would normally expect to pay. You mean I can come once a month for the same price as a nice dinner with my husband? Heck yeah! Sign me up!!! In summary, I'll definitely be back to this Facelogic! This was the best spa experience I've ever had and I plan on signing up for the monthly package so that I can go regularly and treat myself (and my face). If you're looking for a great, pampering facial...definitely check out this location! You won't be disappointed. PS: This morning my face is still looking great (I didn't wash it last night after the facial or this morning...I just rinsed in the shower). My makeup went on so smooth and my face is just glowing (even one of my co-workers commented on how "healthy" I looked today...and it's MONDAY!). I always take good care of my face and use medical grade products to repair and protect it everyday, so for me to notice such a big difference from my already great routine speaks volumes about their service!

If you come here, ask for *Jason*. This guy is amazing! He has his own technique and it's just perfect - the right pressure, the right speed, the right places to squeeze and massage... Their warm towel practice is also one of the best perks. Bottom line - I came because of the price, I stayed because of the service. :)

Do NOT use this spa! There is nothing zen there; it is a waste of money and time, unless you enjoy listening to staff members being publicly humiliated. Horrible.

Providing massages, facials and waxing, this is a charming, clean, friendly spa. Plenty of parking and they are happy to honor Groupons and offer you applicable discounts. Great masseuses and the most painless, surprisingly soothing eyebrow wax I've ever gotten. They aren't cheap but they are reasonably priced and well worth the price. My only complaint would be that they are constantly trying to upsell you on their other services and memberships. It's understandable for a new business but I'd prefer to avoid it.

The location is hard to get to easily. The group atmosphere - was detracting from relaxing. Facialist did not warn me before turning on bright lights - totally unenjoyable and not worth the $50.
