Sable is a refreshing update for today, where the glamour of the 1940's mingles effortlessly with modern industrial touches. The effect is undeniably chic and immensely comfortable.

Restaurant is located inside the Hotel Palomar and easily accessible. Bar area was packed and a bit overcrowded considering the small width of the overall bar. In the back they have a beautiful dining area. I called ahead for a party of 6 so they seated us in a very nice room in back. Overall food was extremely overrated in my opinion. I did enjoy the cheese curds which came with a spicy ketchup and offered a very unique flavor but lets face it you don't go to a place like this looking for cheese curds. Unfortunately the Venison and the Octopus were both taken off the menu which was a bit disappointing. The scallops were a bit too salty but fairly large. The drink menu offers a plentiful variety of drinks... I chose to try the bourbon flight and will admit it was OUTSTANDING and one of the few reasons I still gave this place a 3 star. The restaurant manager was a nice guy and did send us some champagne and a free desert on the house as well as an order of Turkey Poutine (the Turkey Poutine was a bit awkward as most of our diners were vegetarian and I told him that upfront). The toffee cake is very delicious and worth trying! Overall I recommend coming here for the drinks and not the food! Not a bad option for a drink after work or a weekend evening but far from what we expected!

Great food, drinks, and atmosphere. To eat we got the lamb, scallops, and capicola flatbread which were all delicious. The War of Roses was also a great drink.

Recently had drinks here. The bartender was great, really knowledgeable on the drinks. The drinks were delicious and the drink menu was huge!

We went for just cocktails. The best ones we had in Chicago. Fantastic fresh originals, and all the classics well made. The drinks will not dissapoint.

Good food. Odd atmosphere. Our service was so-so. I think there are better alternatives

The food here is pretty mediocre. I was disappointed with every dish I ordered, and I even had to send one back because it was inedible. The service was fine and the drinks were pretty good, but I would not go back. I did email the manager about my experience and they responded very politely and apologized and even offered a free dinner should I choose to return which was very unexpected. However, I still haven't returned for my free dinner so... I think that says it all.

One of my favorite places for cocktails in river north. Friendly staff and talented mixologists. Great food. Half and full size portions. Excellent for sharing. Flatbreads are delicious. Truffle fries are to die for. The dark chocolate souffle with peanut butter and salty caramel ice cream is divine. Perfect ending.
