5 AMAZING BENEFITS OF PRE-ORDERS

I’m going to come straight out and say it; pre-orders are the reason my first self-published novel was so successful, and it can be the same for you.

A lot of people find the process daunting, because what happens if no one pre-orders? Here is the great thing, only you will know that. But hey, let’s not look at the negatives here, my friends, let’s look at the positives.

Check out how pre-orders can have an amazing impact on your novel sales.

HOW TO KNOW YOUR GENRE

Knowing your genre is essential not only to the writing process but for publishing and marketing as well. So basically, you have to get it right.

There are tons of genres out there, and then tons of smaller genres and so on and so forth. It can become a little overwhelming, and that’s completely fine.
Most people go into the writing process having figured out their main genre, some don’t. That’s cool, and that’s why I wrote this article for you.

So check it out!

WRITING: HOW TO MENTALLY PREPARE YOURSELF

I’ve always related writing a novel to Tolkien’s character, Bilbo Baggins. He is just one little guy, and I mean really little, in a wide, wide world. He goes on an epic journey across Middle Earth for and with dwarfs that don’t even know his name. Not once does he give up. He perseveres through ever bump and crack in the road. And at the end, as Gandalf predicted, he had a story or two to tell.

You, the writer, are a singular person in a world that doesn’t know you. Your journey is your novel, the dwarfs are your characters, the bumps in the road are your failures. But at the end of it all, like Bilbo, you will have a story to tell, and one that you will be proud of.

But, before you reach the end, or before you even start the journey, you have to mentally prepare yourself for what is ahead. Writing a novel is not easy. It takes time, determination, perseverance and will power.

I’m not talking about the structure of your novel or the fine intricate details of your story, my friends. No, I am talking about the wonders of your brain and imagination, and how you can mentally prepare them to write your novel.

WHAT IS AN AUTHOR PLATFORM?

So you’re officially an author, or you’re going to be, and it’s time to start thinking about how you are going to market your novel. You’ve read that social media is the best free tool out there, and I am totally on board with that.

Social media is a strong asset, but what I think is better in the long run for a writer is not a Facebook profile but an author platform.

Scroll down my friends and find out why!
