In the early days of the Palantir Gotham (then known as Palantir Government), we began using the Periodic Table of the Elements to give code names to our product releases. They had a predictable order and were easier to remember than version numbers like 1.1.2 or 1.2.1. We started riffing on our company logo to design t-shirts that celebrated each release, beginning with Hydrogen. As of February 2014 we are up to Tin (Sn) and in addition to the t-shirts, which still go to everyone in the company, we make animations of each design to add to the celebration.
