In the words of a famous restaurant critic, "My advice to you. Don't go to Zen Lounge. Keep not going. Keep not going a lot." Poor service, overpriced drinks, rude manager named Ismail. I was there with a large group of people and all of us complained about the service. Many of us were never able to order our meals. We were told upon entrance that there was a two item minimum. Then our server came up and asked for our order. I ordered my drink and my guest wanted a minute more to figure out hers and the food we were going to order for dinner. She said she would be right back. We never saw our server again until an hour and a half later when she presented me with the bill! I had to go up to the bar to get my guest her drink and my drink and we never did get to order food after a few requests for our server. (By the way, my friend's expensive margarita on the rocks had only about 2.5 oz of margarita and the rest was ice for $11.00.) Also, when I asked our server about a particular cocktail I was interested in ordering she actually answered, "I have no idea...I don't drink." Not, "I haven't tried it but it's one of our more popular cocktails" or "try it and if you don't like it I can bring you something else..." or "let me ask one of our other servers who has tried it." This was one of the 8 specialty cocktails so you'd think she would have a clue! The hostess, however, was more than kind when I took my bill to her with my complaint and told her what our server had said. She was shocked and immediately called the manager. However, he sang a different tune and could have cared less that a customer was dissatisfied and became actually quite rude. Those of the guests we knew who actually had gotten to eat said the food was so-so only. It's too bad because the decor and set up is quite chic. In a city full of talented restauranteurs, chefs, managers and waitstaff, that Zen Lounge has managed to fail on so many accounts marks a special new low. That's it's real achievement.

My daughter, Britainn, and I were very unhappy with our visit ...made a reservation online like the website said and when we arrived we were placed outside when there was plenty of inside seating ,when we asked why...we were told "we try to put on the website to call in to make a reservation" ...we just double checked the website and that is no where to be found. Then we were also told by my confirmation email that happy hour was 5-8 pm when we were seated the waiter said it was 10 -12am which doesn't make sense because that's when they are the busiest, but that's be side the point, the point is we felt lied to and there unprofessional menus and not being set up on time just made my experience even worse. The sound guy was checking the mic, literally, for an hour. Tisha Campbell was waiting around waiting to get on her own stage and had to call Guitar Center herself to have someone come over to help her get it up. They were supposed to start at 7. We left at 8 because nothing had started and he was still doing mic check. The staff was very apologetic in the end.
