Using SleepCurve’s Moses Basket mattress to correct Flat Head Syndrome

Flat head syndrome or the deformity in the shape of a baby’s head now affects over 47 per cent of babies in the United Kingdom. There are many ways to improve the shape of your baby’s head and of the most effective ones is using a baby mattress which is specifically designed to help prevent and correct flat head syndrome.
Your baby’s sleeping position can be one of the factors why a baby develops Plagiocephaly or Brachycephaly. Plagiocephaly, one of the most common types of flat head syndrome is when the baby’s head is flattened on one side only and makes it look asymmetrical and not proportioned. This can cause significant change in your baby’s appearance as the other side of their face do not align with the other, creating a distorted appearance. Another common type of flat head syndrome is Brachycephaly, this is manifested by the widening of the baby’s head due to the back portion being flattened and the frontal part of the skull looks protruding. In some cases, these head deformities in babies are caused by bad sleeping position and posture.
It is therefore important for parents of babies who have developed flat head syndrome and for those who have normal head shapes to take notice of practices that will prevent their babies from having such head deformities. One way to ensure that is to constantly check on their posture and their sleeping positions.
Moses baskets and baby cribs are some of the most common places where babies spend the most of their time when lying down or asleep. SleepCurve has a mattress that helps correct flat head syndrome because of its design. It can be used in your baby’s Moses Basket, but is also portable, as shown in the photograph. Because of its portability, you are assured that your baby’s posture will not be compromised while travelling or even on family outings. SleepCurve’s Moses Basket mattresses are easy to carry along and clean, making them great travel companions.
Aside from correcting your baby’s posture, the SleepCurve Moses Basket mattress can also be used on your baby’s crib or when lying them on a flat surface. SleepCurve’s Moses basket mattress aids breathing by opening airways, encourages optimum heat reduction, keeping baby cooler, relieves pressure on the skull preventing/ remedying flat head syndrome, helps prevent reflux and allows the baby’s head to move freely.
