Do it, social computing people, it's a good time!
Interested in doing research and large-scale data analysis on Google+?

I’m looking for a summer intern interested in studying social networks and diffusion of information.

We’re looking for PhD students with an interest in studying online behavior in communities, experience in statistical programming (R) and data munging (Python), and an excitement for turning research insights into improving Google+.

Contact me if you’re interested!

If this is real, then this guy is awesome (though the responses were so cleanly delivered that I am a little suspicious).

Wow - unexpected but awesome Hangout opportunity (at 1:30 AM PST)
His Holiness the Dalai Lama will have a conversation with Archbishop Desmond Tutu by live video over a Hangout as part of the Inaugural Desmond Tutu Peace Lecture in Cape Town, South Africa, on October 8, 2011, starting at 10:30am South African time (GMT+2.00). A link to the Google+ Hangout will be available approximately 20-30 minutes before the event begins.

Just wrapped up my last day at Google. Currently riding the Google Bus home for the last time in a long while.

+Ed Chi just informed me that the CHI deadline is actually 9/23 and not 9/15. I think I wrote down the wrong date at the beginning of the summer in order to trick myself into finishing earlier.

Current status: Передаю привет Тамаре из Кургана. Курган говно, кстати.

Check it out - Living Social deal for Whole Foods (if that's not 'no-lose' enough for you, it appears to be valid for 5 years'):

$20 to Spend on Groceries :

The deal is only available for 20 more hours, so scoop it up soon!
