Great idea for a post. Shamefully, I haven't seen any of them. Very well done. I guess I should start with the original, no?

Muy caballero indeed! You could not have landed on a more crush-worthy actor. I confess I still have a big crush on Mr. Roland. Loved your post.

Such a great subject!
Mae certainly gave the censors a run for their money. She was brilliant - thankfully we can see her work and fully appreciate what a joy she was. Great post!

Thank you for a very enlightening post. I guess it's quite true that there are victims on both sides. Everything looks clearer when looked through the lens of history, doesn't it? i wonder how current times will be viewed.

Awesome review! This new to m film comes at just the right time. I am embarking on a min-discovery of the works for Richard Barthelmess, so this one moves to the top of my list.

Such a wonderful film - truly gets to the heart of the reason movies are so important. Great review - but, really, I always wished they would have made "Ants in Your Plants of 1941."

Once I learned that the Harvey Girls were real, I loved this film so much more. As soon as I learned the topic of our blogathon, that song went choo-chooing through my brain. You picked a winner and gave us a great post.

It's a Universal Picture! Horror from this studio at its best. Not just another monster movie, it is filled with humanity. Great post and a great choice.

I came to appreciate this gal just lately and she certainly had star power (not to mention lung power) to spare. Great post.
