Public House is a great stop before or after a Giants game (although it will be crowded). You can actually enter the ballpark through the bar, and often times the line is shorter then going through a main entrance. They have a great selection of beers, always lots of sports on the many TV's and tasty food. It is hard to get a table on games days, and hard to get to the bar, but if you arrive early, its a fun pre-game spot.

FOOD: mac n chz = I love their mac n chz here. It's slightly spinkled on top with bread crumbs? so it has that nice contrasting crunch? mmm.... SERVICE: good ATMOSPHERE: Patio seating, but inside is spacious, modern casual, good place to watch the game since it's like literally under/connected to the ballpark.

Probably a good option if you're into sports, but for someone who doesn't care....this spot wouldn't be my first pick. The Mac and cheese was pretty decent, but the beer selection was much better. Lots of TVs and outdoor seating. The chairs are squeaky and loud, but there's lots if room to spread out.

Fun Fact: You can buy a beer here and take it into the stadium with you! Not Fun Fact: That beer is still going to be expensive. The good thing about that though is if you're waiting for people before a game and want to grab a drink you can do that and not worry about finishing it in a hurry once they get there. It's really cool that they have an entrance into the stadium from inside the restaurant. I have not eaten here but I've enjoyed a beer before a game. I think this is a really cool meet up spot, better than some of the other bars near by or near a gate. There are televisions all over so you can keep up with everything that's going on in the sporting world. Particularly useful during playoffs and football season!

Let's split this down to what's really going on. The Public House is a perfect place for your sports lovin' group to go right after a game. That's why it's right next to the ballpark. If you love sports, were at the game, or typically frequent a sports place, this place is for you. If not, this place might not be for you. I will say, I went here for a special event regarding Macaroni and Cheese across SOMA, and the Mac and Cheese was OK. Nothing killer. However, the beer list was great and the servers were excellent. They really took care of us, and I can totally appreciate that.

What can I say about this place. First of all, if you go here on a day with the Giants are out of town or in the off season, it might be better since it is basically in AT&T Park. We went here for mac and cheese and it definitely made the cut. The beer selection is very good. From what I remember they had about 25-30 beers and the wait staff knows their beer. If you ask them to pair you meal with a beer their recommendations are spot on. We sat outside, which, if you have ever been to AT&T Park can be a chilly experience but their are heaters on the wall and it really wasn't that bad. The atmosphere is your basic sports bar, with TVs everywhere and a large open dining area on the inside.
