Thank you Shirely045 for this WONDERFUL review! #CruCafe #CharlestonDining
"Arrived to find this restaurant in tiny house setting -- but the food was amazing. The staff is so friendly -- I loved the whole experience. Had gazpacho soup which was a special that night -- very spicy but well prepared. Followed with butter lettuce salad with pesto salmon. A light plate but wonderful flavors in salad dressing and pesto. The dessert was orange cake with white frosting and coconut. One of best cakes I have had in many years. Great texture and yummy frosting, not too sweet. Highly recommend you make a reservation as you will love this place!"

We were just a group of five girls visiting from Charlotte, North Carolina. It was a one day trip, packed with plenty of unexpected driving and lots of google mapping. But, when we typed in "food" for the lovely, historic Charleston downtown, there were way too many options. So we decided to inquire from a local, usually they know what's what. And, to our very pleasant surprise, the local we chose was an extremely helpful one as well as one with good taste in cuisine. It took us about two miles or so to get there, but Cru Cafe was SO worth the walk. The amazing customer service, the warm atmosphere, and, of course, the food! The presentation of each dish was unique and tasted simply AMAZING! So glad we asked a local!

Rude experience with the manager over the phone... He was upset about a 7 sandwich order that was too "big" for their kitchen to handle. Pretty unprofessional service

What an amazing experience. This restaurant made our trip to Charleston worth it. The meals were beautifully prepared and delicious. Their Fried Soft Shell Sandwich was to die for. Don't miss going here when in Charleston; must make a reservation.

The was a recommendation from a coworker and after making fairly late dinner ressies, it turned out to be our best meal had while in Charleston. I made reservations for 9:45p, but when we got there the hostess couldn't find my reservation. She was awfully apologetic and was able to seat us immediately outside on the porch. The weather was in the 70s and sitting outside was great. Coming from NY we were surprised by the selective beer list on the menu and were very pleased with our choices. We both selected a locally brewed beer and they accompanied our meals well. For our entrees, I went with the special of the day: wreckfish and he went with the salmon dish. Both were very well portioned and full of great flavor. To finish off the sensational entrees, we ordered their bread pudding and it did not disappoint! This is a wonderful place to dine and I especially loved the unique architecture of the place!
