Cru Cafe Love: "AMAZING! That's the most humble word I have to describe the experience in this restaurant. Our waitress Carrie is lovely and I completely recommend her to your visit. You can't go wrong with the food here! I mean, everything we tasted was incredible delicious! Definitely a must come back next time in Charleston!"

Cru Cafe Love: "Wreckfish and Thai Seafood Risotto were two of the best seafood dishes we've had in a while. Fried Green Tomatoes with Pork Belly Croutons were excellent. Great service as well! We'll be back."

Cru Cafe Love: "My husband and I had an exceptional dining experience here. We were lucky to be offered seats at the Chef's Table, which are 4 bar-level seats with a view straight into the kitchen. We were fascinated watching the kitchen staff work their magic. Not to mention, all the food was fantastic! The macaroni and cheese was to die for. We got the calamari appetizer, and it was so flavorful, and memorable for my first time trying calamari. We will definitely be back! Thanks for making our anniversary dinner extra special!"

A consistent favorite!! Love taking people here for the amazing food, friendly service and Charleston ambiance. I've probably been 100+times over the years and I've never once been disappointed.

The seating in this place is a joke. I had a 1:15 reservation for 2 and the host sat 3 un-reserved parties of 4, 2, and 2 before even acknowledging us. SOP for a restaurant that takes reservations calls for checking who has reservations before seating your restaurant to capacity. My partner was really excited to eat here because of the rave reviews, but I made a reservation for a reason.... so I don't need to hang out with the rabble by the door, sweating my face off. I have anxiety, and I mitigate it by preparing ahead of time to minimize stressful situations. Maybe we got ignored because we are a gay couple? Or maybe because we were the only people in the entire place born after WWI. This was a freaking untenable situation. Save yourself the trouble dealing with this disorganized cowflop of an eatery and go eat at 82 Queen instead

Great food, below average service. The swordfish was huge and cooked to perfection. The local special, tumeric rubbed wreckfish plated on a bed of sliced cucumbers and baby potatoes proved to be a great flavor combination, and likewise cooked perfectly. The Mac & Cheese creamy and savory, sautéed mushrooms excellent as were the sautéed vegetables. The service, however, did not match the quality of the food. The food took much longer than expected to arrive - others seated well after us received their entrees before us (We didn't order appetizers nor were we slow to order), the plates came out in stages instead of simultaneously so others in the group were waiting, the server checked on us almost immediately after the food was delivered - we hadn't even taken a bite - but then we never saw her again, she forgot to include a side dish we ordered, and we had to ask someone else to bring us the check. We'll definitely return for the food and hope the poor service was an anomaly.

Hands down, probably the best experience EVER! The staff is so attentive and catering, getting you exactly what you want. For example, I was confused on what I wanted and the chef came out and chose the perfect item on the Menu, it was exactly what I was craving, couldn't be more pleased. The service was spectacular as well. My server, Fawn, made me feel like I was a princess ordering from the kitchen in my own home. Thank you. Kind and Quant. Really cool watching them prepare your meal too throughout the dining experience.

We came here at the recommendation of some of my wifes co-workers. I checked out the menu and it looked like a great little spot. Had some trouble getting in with a reservation for a couple of weeks. Once arriving I found out why. Its a VERY small location with just a few tables. I didn't count but I'm thinking somewhere around 30 people is about max capacity. Don't let that deter you. Quality of the food was really good. I had an appetizer that was delicious and both of our entrees were very good. For once we could not determine who had the better dish because we were both very happy with what we got. Service was very good as well. There was a pretty constant attention paid to our table. Never ran out of water and offered to refill our drinks. The wait for the bread, appetizer, and entree were on point. Value of the food was really on point. I actually felt that they are punching a little above their weight and in some instances could charge more. I wouldn't consider it a bargain as it wasn't dirt cheap, but quality and value in comparison are there. What I didn't care for was the noise level. It was pretty tight quarters and there were some patrons that were very noisy near us. Not the restaurants fault of course, but in the tight quarters just know what you are up against. Other notes: Parking could be considered a challenge here. There are lots close but its typically a different direction than you would be walking for downtown. Don't let that deter you. We'll be back, and I'll put this on my recommendation list.

Great atmosphere in an old single home: felt very uniquely Charleston. Food was excellent. Highly recommend the fried oysters.
