Did you know that Long Beach was once referred to as "Iowa by the sea"? In the 1950's Long Beach, California saw a large influx of people from the Midwest. With that down home feel, it's the perfect spot for your for West Coast vacation.

Enjoyed my stay for business, and being greeted with a chic bonjour. The french flight staff provided an authentic backdrop to the lobby. Best linens ever. The gym was a little worn but otherwise, very nice. Ask to stay on a high floor for a view. I was on 8 and the view was mostly of a roof, but because room was so nice, I was willing to forgive.

We loved the accomodations and service. The property is very centrally located to very wide assortment of activities for children and adults. We had a problem with our bill which the on duty manager corrected immediately. Anytime we are in the Long Beach area, which is often, we will definitely stay at this property. Kudos to the Hyatt and their Human Resources department for employing and training a very customer oriented staff. P.S. When the other venues are completed it will be even better.

Worst hotel experience I've ever had. Checked into hotel at 4pm 3/6/2015 and tried to relax a little before heading to dinner. Immidiately after getting into my room I hear loud hammering. I thought maybe it would go away but after an hour of that I called to get a room away from the construction. They moved me down one floor but the noise was just as bad. This went on over three hours when I finally called the front desk to see if they could move me again and they said sorry that's all we have. Lol unbelievable. So i checked out and got a room at the Renaissance a block away. Btw, this HYATT does not have valet either. HYATT hotels are generally nice and well managed but not this one. They have lost my business.

everything was exactly as I had read in the reviews but no one seems to have mentioned the $75 per night security deposit. for me who was staying a whole week it came to $525, effectively depleating half my spending money. While my vacation is ruined at least I slept and lounged in complete luxury.

Such a great experience! Friendly staff, quick service and the best room service pancakes! Parking is close-by and responsible. Plenty of attractions and eateries within five minutes of walking distance. Very close to Seal Beach as well, which was great for us to surf. We will be back! A+ :)

Nice hotel... everything is band new, and the bathroom is immaculate. Good location, friendly staff. The one thing I didn't like was the carpet in the room... with all the neon blue, it kinda looks like a whale vomited on it.

The rooftop pool is amazing! Gives you a great ocean view since you are on the borderline of the Pike and right in the heart of downtown Long Beach. I recently went to this hotel as part of a romantic getaway and the room was great. While there is no bathtub, the shower area was large and with a rainfall showerhead. The price was very affordable for a suite room (below $200) probably because it is in Long Beach and further south than greater Los Angeles. If you are willing to make the drive, the Hyatt is well worth it.
