On Saturday, the first 'Interactive Newsprint' project workshops brought together designers, Prestonians and organisations from around the city to look at a brand new way of sharing news. Interactive Newsprint features UCLan, Surrey and Dundee universities, along with Cambridge-based outfit Novalia, and plans to investigate the potential of 'interactive paper' to create new and innovative ways of sharing news.
For example, the cutting edge tech allows paper to respond to human touch, play audio and potentially link out to the internet. It's pretty exciting stuff.
We're working on our website at the moment, and I'll share links as and when we have updates, but in the meantime - here's a report from local site Blog Preston on the event.
