The Field engineering team’s contribution focuses on two main areas: supporting our internal customers (the Field team) to maximize their contribution to the company and our customers and the second is to work directly with our external customers to maximize their contribution to the products they manufacturer. http://fieldfastener.com/2014/11/07/an-all-around-approach-part-7-engineering/

No one is better than Field at identifying and implementing cost savings projects for customers. One of the core values of our engineering philosophy is to be proactive in everything we do. This proactive approach allows us to add value by recommending practical, realistic, and achievable continuous improvement projects. Many distributors perform “line walks” at the customer’s location. Often times these line walks become little more than opportunities for the distributor to locate and quote new fasteners. Field performs line reviews with the ultimate goal of implementing cost savings opportunities. http://fieldfastener.com/case_studies/technical-line-review-turns-218369-cost-reductions/

Vendor managed inventory (VMI) is a practice in which a supplier takes full responsibility for managing a buyer’s inventory at that buyer’s location. With the right tools it is easier for a supplier to effectively manage inventory than for buyers to try and manage hundreds or thousands of part numbers on their own. Download our 'What Is VMI' white paper below or click here to go the Field website to read more about it: https://lnkd.in/ecWBiP9
