The rooms are alright, older "modern" feel, decent beds, updated lighting. The views vary greatly depending on your room, and there are apparently two buildings/sections for rooms. In one of them, the first number of your room does not correlate to the floor you're on (very odd in my opinion). At least that was the case with my co-workers room. My bathroom is dark even with two small windows in the wall into the living space. Showerheads are terrible, small streams of water far too spaced apart. Staff has been great so far.

Lots of "glitches" during our stay. For a Hyatt I expect none. Problems with check in, computers, didn't have room requested,1/3 of elevators not working, room no where near sound resistant, things broken in room. Positives- pool lovely, view lovely, near things when driving, great shower Probably try Marriott next time.

Our school rented out their ballroom for the dinner receptiin the night before graduation. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was equally comfortable, and the layout of the room coerced a good number of silly looking white folks to try and dance. Overall it was a great night, capitulating in a gorgeous sunset with many a picture taken. I have plans to return this summer for a weekend's stay with my family to really soak in the view of the bridge and the harbor. Great location, perfect for events.

The service is horrendous. If the customer service were good I would have given a better rating. I don't expect much.. just a sincere smile and true hospitality. I did not find that here. When I made a reservation I was guaranteed water views from the Captain's Quarters. When I checked it is was told my room does not have water views. The woman who checked us in was unfriendly and clearly annoyed that I was questioning her about my reservation. After about 5 minutes of me looking through my notes about my reservation to prove I was told I would have water views, she "upgraded" me to a junior suite. The reason "upgraded" is in quotes is because it was on the first floor, as opposed to being higher up in Captain's Quarters. The room was big but it was okay, nothing too fancy. The bathroom was huge! During my stay, I called the front desk twice about the jacuzzi tub jets not working and both times I was told they would send up the engineer.. no one ever came. Then I accidentally broke a glass in the sink, this time I went to the front desk to tell them and to ask if someone could clean it (really just sweep so I could avoid stepping on it), once again I was told someone would come.. only this time they did.. but didn't clean the glass!!!!! They came into my room while I was gone, made the bed, refilled towels, etc. they clearly saw the broken glass because they turned off a light that was right there! The yoga is only on Saturday and Sunday (boo) and the rest of the activities they offer are for kids (again, boo). The restaurants don't have great food but they do have awesome tasting lemonade! The spa is okay. The outdoor pool is saltwater so that's appealing. It gets really crowded though and other guests will try to save seats after being gone for hours, so that's annoying but the employees are super helpful in finding you a seat by the pool (I feel bad for them.. having to hear people complain about not finding a seat and the others complaining about theirs being "taken"). Overall, it seems this is a good place for a family vacation. I wouldn't recommend a couples getaway.

Great place to bring your family, young kids and dogs especially. On goat island which feels secluded but still walking distance to the wharfs and marina. Service is top notch.

The most absolutely beautiful hotel I have ever visited. We grabbed breakfast there. After taking a walk around, I realized that I will propose there someday.

Nice location on Goat Island in Newport RI. Accommodations for the conference I attended were very suitable. Unfortunately there was roof leak and an unpleasant smell persisted in the hallway to many rooms for the entire stay. The room I stayed was roomy and had a nice view out of 3 windows. Room cleaning was late in the day each day. Conference food met expectations most days.
