At the Hyatt Regency Newport 13 employees and 5 interns volunteered to clean up the property. We spent 2 hours working together to pick up trash all over our property, parking lots, and gardens to keep our hotel & island clean. Together we picked up 40lbs of trash!

Meet Charlie, one of the most adorable Pomeranian's we have ever seen! He was adopted in 2005 and is his family affectionately called “Whubbie” because they find it more fitting since he is so loving and cuddly! Happy #WagYourTailWednesday!

The front desk was cold an uninviting. I found a great groupon deal off season to show my fiance Newport I'll never use it again. The hotel room I was told I would get had ocean views rather then the parking lot / lack of ocean view. The shuttle was supposed to run until 12 I walked back at 1130 because no shuttle showed up. Even if It was was on season I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone . I also was insulted when there was an empty bar and the bartender refused to serve us. I have an African-American fiance and being at an empty bar that being the ownlt fault i could find. Worst hotel ive ever stayed and the parking lot was a sheet of ice and all in all It was an embarrassing weekend and I have to explain to the love of my life all of new England isn't racist .

I will not recommend this Hotel. The front desk is very cold or should I say not accomodating at all and found out that the one who checked us in is the supervisor. Didn't even greet us or told us where to park or even ask us if we need help with our luggages. As a Gold passport holder we should expect more cause they are carrying the name HYATT. We always stay in hyatt but this is the only hyatt hotel so far that I will not recomend to anyone. The price for the room is too expensive and the size of the room is very small. After checking in and saw the room we had to upgrade to captains quarter which is more spacious. If I will give the high rating I will give it to the bell person named Rob. He is the best feels like he knows more than the person at the fron desk. He told us about the shuttle, valet, pool, time of breakfast.....etc. I will give him 5 star.

Poor value for money. Pros: - excellent views. - nice common areas. - comfy bed. Cons: - thin walls let you hear EVERYTHING your neighbors do. - toilets work every 3rd try. - the towels are removed from rooms at 11am, and returned at 3pm. Good luck to you if you want to dry off in the interim.

If you are looking for peace and quiet don't stay here. We had to change rooms the first morning. The walls are so thin, I had to listen to the woman in the next room coughing and blowing her nose all night, then wake to a howling dog above us. Who brings a dog to a hotel?! I came here on Christmas hoping to get away from noise and people for once but it was just the opposite. Don't even try and swim in the pool. It's tiny, and filled with screaming splashing kids. Plus it closes at 9pm. Really stupid as people are on vacation and stay up late. Would not stay here again the next time we visit RI.
