We stayed here for our two year wedding anniversary. We were first booked in the deluxe on the ground floor but had to change the room because there was a parking lot view and the bathroom had mildew in the tub. It felt unsafe and had a motel feel in that ground floor. So we requested an upgrade to a a deluxe ocean view in the second level which was way better. The room was very clean, spacious, quiet and modern. Has a beautiful view of the ocean, the bridge and sunsets. Lots of amenities which included 3 on site restaurants, an indoor and outdoor pool, a gym, a spa, weekend activities, free bike rental and shuttle service. The grounds were well kept and clean. Staff very friendly, accommodating and eager to serve. Would definitely recommend the Hyatt regency in Newport R.I. I also love how it was away from the busyness of downtown and away from the other hotels.

We recently stayed at the Goat Island Hyatt Regency for a second time and it was a great experience once in the fall and at Christmas. Both times the room was clean and comfortable in two different sections of the facility. The breakfast and dinner meals were outstanding, along with a nice bar with Harbor view. We look forward to visiting again this coming year.

We were gathering for a family Wedding on Eastern Beach. We knew family and friends would be booking in all over Newport so we wanted a hotel that could accommodate the the clan gathering in one spot. From what I can tell, the Hyatt is the only Resort style hotel in the area. It suited our needs to a tee. The large grounds, and swimming pool are were perfect the clan to gather and chill before and after the Wedding events. The staff were always on hand and helpful, especially around the pool. The rooms are a little tired, but are well cleaned. Sadly, the walls seem to be paper thin, so if your room is near the lifts (or a noisy neighbor) be prepared for the noise. Being situated on Goat Island, seemed perfect to me, far enough from the throng in Newport (we were there during a Folk Festival) but close enough to enjoy all its benefits. I would happily stay here again.

The Place is very pretty…however the staff from top down…except for the valet and Trudy the concierge…are absolutely horribly unqualified and unprofessional

I wasn't impressed with the Hyatt. I expected a lot more for the name. Our room was okay but the walls were super thin. You could easily hear other guests. I found the hallways to be dark and dingy. And I was expecting more in terms of cleanliness. In fact, I found a used toothpick on the floor in my hotel room. In addition, the beds were really hard and uncomfortable as well as the pillows. None of us got a good night sleep the two nights we were there. Next time we visit Newport, we will be staying elsewhere!

This was on our honeymoon. My wife and I where on the 6th floor. The hall ways where not dark as another reviewer wrote. No noise was heard either. The staff was fantastic as was the food. Ate at the restaurant the whole time. The hotel even sent up a bottle of wine on our first night. Which surprised us very much.

The front desk was cold an uninviting. I found a great groupon deal off season to show my fiance Newport I'll never use it again. The hotel room I was told I would get had ocean views rather then the parking lot / lack of ocean view. The shuttle was supposed to run until 12 I walked back at 1130 because no shuttle showed up. Even if It was was on season I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone . I also was insulted when there was an empty bar and the bartender refused to serve us. I have an African-American fiance and being at an empty bar that being the ownlt fault i could find. Worst hotel ive ever stayed and the parking lot was a sheet of ice and all in all It was an embarrassing weekend and I have to explain to the love of my life all of new England isn't racist .

I will not recommend this Hotel. The front desk is very cold or should I say not accomodating at all and found out that the one who checked us in is the supervisor. Didn't even greet us or told us where to park or even ask us if we need help with our luggages. As a Gold passport holder we should expect more cause they are carrying the name HYATT. We always stay in hyatt but this is the only hyatt hotel so far that I will not recomend to anyone. The price for the room is too expensive and the size of the room is very small. After checking in and saw the room we had to upgrade to captains quarter which is more spacious. If I will give the high rating I will give it to the bell person named Rob. He is the best feels like he knows more than the person at the fron desk. He told us about the shuttle, valet, pool, time of breakfast.....etc. I will give him 5 star.
