Just because I don't greet people "Happy birthday" (along with "Merry Christmas," "Happy New Year," "Happy Valentine's," "Happy Mother's Day," "Happy Father's Day," "Happy Anniversary," etc.) doesn't mean I don't care. I don't even celebrate mine. :) Why? It began the time I realized the practice (along with the others I mentioned) came from pagan roots, not from the example of the Lord Jesus. Only two instances in the Bible refer to birthday celebration and both pertain to death, not birth. God's Word says,

But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage? Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years. I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain. (Galatians 4:9-11)

Confusing news. Who's telling the truth now? But upon reading The Manila Times, I reckon it best to keep quiet and to mind my own business, just as God's Word says:

“And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you;” (1 Thessalonians 4:11)

A blessed and restful weekend to all!

Swift arrest must also be applied to fraudulent public officials, don't you think? And whoever gets arrested overnight in the Philippines for cyber libel? Here's one of the many, probably yet to be documented: a journalist who opposes the Philippine government.

Humans in authority can arrest CEOs like Maria Ressa and anyone else, even children (!); but the God of the Bible will make sure the wicked--the undeserving so-called public servants included--will not go unpunished (Proverbs 11:21).

In my lifetime of having documents notarized, no lawyer has issued an official receipt despite the law explicit about its issuance for payments received, as low as 25 pesos. But lawyers make sure the citizens follow the law. As God's Word says, woe to you indeed, lawyers.

Glad to see my HS classmates today--in good health and doing well. Some of them formed a company, the producer of KiSs Juice Drink, available at Family Mart stores. My favorite beverage so far. 😊

I must have uttered the sinner's prayer a number of times in the early '90s. But later I realized, sinner's prayer is no different from formula prayers churches teach people. Still, many people feel proud and believe they do wonders "leading" others to say the sinner's prayer. If you're among these people, think again . . .

God's Word says

“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6)

"Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.” (Acts 16:31)

This lady was 4 years old when her parents gave her a plastic violin. Kudos to parents who just knew early on how to guide their children!

Trump asked a 7-year old: "Are you still a believer in Santa?"

Good question, Mr. President. Because the truth is, Santa is not real. God's Word tells us to train up a child in the way he should go, so that when he grows up, he will not depart from it (Proverbs 22:6). Believing something that is not true is never part of that way. God's way is for us to think in terms of "whatever is true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise" (Philippians 4:8). May we adults be gentle, yet strong enough to teach our kids not to be conformed to the pattern of this world . . . (Romans 12:2).
