Warning! Rip off. Don't waste your money! All these positive reviews are deceiving. As in lies. They must have been written by old white people who have never had real Mexican food - or the owners of this cafeteria-style excuse for a Mexican restaurant. Trust me when I say this is NOT REAL MEXICAN FOOD. The nacho bar at my high school cafeteria was better than this. First, stale day-old tortillas that taste like a mouthful of dry bleached flour. Second, the stuff they call salsa is plain canned tomato sauce with NO flavor. Third, the "green chile" is a questionable paste of goo and chopped bits of questionable meat - possibly reheated leftovers. And the "toppings" which they greedily charge extra for are shredded lettuce, over-ripe diced tomatoes (not pico), and yes, those rubbery, half-plastic Velveeta cheese slices from your public school cafeteria circa 1990. They made me pay extra for my chips and fake salsa. And the chips were AWEFUL. Stale, reheated, too much salt that still wasn't enough to hide the horrible lack of flavor. My "burrito" was more stale tortilla than anything else. What little stuffing it contained was cold and included yet more fake cheese product - this time shredded. The canned refried beans were more like cheap dog food than beans and all I tasted was the fat. The rice was - I don't know what to say other than a mushy ball of goo. I could not distinguish the grains and it looked reheated, again absolutely lacking in any kind of flavor. Add to this that the only hot sauce they have tastes like ketchup so you can't even spice it up yourself! The worst part though is that I paid $13 for lunch at this hell hole. I have had far superior Mexican lunches in Fort Collins for half the price, including a drink. I shutter to think that they charge more for dinner. So when you go to this place you might as well drop your pants and bend over because you are about to get screwed. Finally, I have never been to prison, but someone who has told me the food there was better. Enough said.

Deeesgusting! Not sure how they have lasted so long. The cheese in my chips and in my chile relleno came straight from the machines at ballparks and movie theaters. Is that Kraft cheese on the taco and the beans straight from the can. Yuck! Tookbit all home to the dogs.

This was my first time eating here and compared to all of the Mexican restaurants in FoCo (yes, I have tried them all) this is the BEST!! Not sure why there are negative reviews as the service was phenomenal. The server asked if it was our first time here and brought a tortilla and sampling of their sauces. Really above and beyond. Very casual and price was great considering I had the size of meal to bring home about half as leftovers. I had the chile relleno, bean and cheese smothered burrito, and guac tostada meal. It came with iced tea and a sopapilla all for $13. Definitely worth the money and tasty. If you are on the hunt for a great meal, ignore the other feedback and give them a try for yourself. I will be back!!

Total HELL HOLE! Service is pathetic!! Trust me, look at the way the business owner responds to their comments on here!!! Telling people they're mistaken as to where they've eaten. C'mon!!! It's like they're doing you a favor by having you in to eat their fake Mexican food! Oh and YES, IT WAS this location we ate at in Old Town Fort Collins, Nachos soaked in 7-11 cheese ... Yep, that's the place. Unfortunately there isn't a -5 star rating ... this place has earned it!!!

I am very sorry you feel this way, I would love to try and accommodate you. But it does not sound like you would care for that. All I can do is apologize , I'm sorry your visit has upset you this much. Please take care.

We have been eating here for years! It's still one of our family favorites... four generations now! I don't know what these other people are talking about, but I suggest you try a smothered burrito.... hands down the best around! Keep up the good work! And thank you guys for continuing to be the best Mexican food around!

The salsa was bland, literally tomato sauce with red pepper flakes. More Italian than Mexican. Next, the green Chili was a watered down version of their "salsa" with some random pieces, of what I think was pork. Bland and disappointing. The burrito was filled with some sort of ground meat like substance with bland canned beans. Topped with velveta, lettuce, and tomatoes that I got charged $1.80 for. Unaware of this before ordering, and is not listed on the menu. All within a tough and stale tortilla. I have never felt the need to salt Mexican food, but in this sad and disappointing case, it was necessary in order to swallow my food. Last, the service was lack luster and slow. Rarely were we checked in on, and had to ask several times for our check to arrive. Overall a gosh awful experience that taught me to trust honest reviews. Don't go to this place. I was disappointed and will never return, myself.

Maybe one of the most bland "Mexican" restaurants I have ever eaten at. They have one red sauce that was used on the three different dishes we ordered (including burritos smothered in "green" chili), the table salsa, and as a soup for one of the entrees. The refried beans had no flavor, looked and tasted like they came out of a can, and formed a thick paste that was almost inedible. The interior was sad and dingy, but that's more of an aside than anything. To top everything off they had no hot sauce which might have salvaged an otherwise one note meal. After looking at the other reviews I noticed a lot of the 5 star reviews come from accounts that have little if any information and usually have only reviewed this restaurant. I can't make you avoid this place, but I recommend that.

I'm sorry you feel that way Alex! Please come see me at lunch sometime Mon. Tuesday. Or We'd. For lunch 11-2. I believe you may be thinking of a different restaurant. Our food is homemade made fresh daily. And our pork green chile has been a favorite for many for 55 years... And has been shipped all over the world! Hope to meet you soon, Jessi Godinez with El Burrito

El Terrible, that's a little more fitting as their food was almost as bad as their service. I'm not sure how they've survived operating this way for so long. Sadly I won't return to what use to truly be a great place to go.
