55 hours left in my Kickstarter campaign. We've set a stretch goals for an audio edition of the book and more author pay. Hoping we can get there. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/clarkesworld/upgraded-a-cyborg-anthology-edited-by-neil-clarke

This weekend, I discovered a foreign magazine with a website design extremely similar to Clarkesworld's... well, more than extremely, it was my design and code with a few cosmetic changes. Even weirder, the email exchange between their editor and I was very friendly. (I've had some interesting exchanges with people who've done stuff with our stories, so I expected some difficulty. They didn't have any of our stories, just the website design.) They've already made changes. Too bad I can't read Chinese... despite this little problem with their designer, they look like they have an interesting magazine.

Yes, last I heard SF World had the largest readership of any SF magazine. At least one CW story has been translated into Chinese and published there and we've published translations of two of their stories.

Looks like Amazon finally has Myths of Origin by Catherynne M. Valente. I sent them the ebook edition last month, but we had to make a last minute printer change when ours decided it was more fun to print Diary of a Wimpy Kid books instead of already scheduled books. http://tinyurl.com/bulq8zu

Cabin Fever is a pretty good book. Not as cool as Cat's stuff though. :D

The Kickstarter campaign for UPGRADED has unlocked its first stretch goal, so all editions of the book will have four more cyborg stories! The audio edition stretch goal is still lurking out there, so please keep telling your friends about us.

This week, Caitlín R. Kiernan and Pat Cadigan agreed to write stories for UPGRADED. You can find the most recent list of contributors on our Kickstarter page: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/clarkesworld/upgraded-a-cyborg-anthology-edited-by-neil-clarke

So, post-heart attack, you do a lot of thinking about your priorities in life. One of the things I've decided to do is make a run at making Clarkesworld a "professional" magazine, which means paying our staff a reasonable wage and someday being able to do this for a living. This month's editorial kicks that off. Wish me luck. http://clarkesworldmagazine.com/clarke_09_12/

For some reason, I keep forgetting that Google+ exists. So, to catch you up on a bunch of things all at once... both my kids had birthdays, my wife and I celebrated our 17th anniversary, the April issue of Clarkesworld is online (and also available by Kindle subscription) and I became a Hugo nominee for best editor (short form)... I'm a bit overwhelmed. :)

Going to be spending some time at Philcon this weekend. Finally getting a break from what has been a rather hectic schedule lately. Probably would have missed this one too if it wasn't a short drive from home.

Have had Kindle Fire for 12 hours. Can support flash? Check. Can handle web non-mobile version of gmail? Check. Can copy files onto it via USB? Check. Can manage school website through it? Check. Already a lot more useful to me than the iPad and a fraction of the cost. Fortunately, I didn't pay for either of them. Will probably end up with a full-size android tablet next.
