Not being a Jane Austen fan myself, this one for Eunice and Jayne:
"Are you more like Elizabeth, quick to judge and easy to anger, or more like Mr. Darcy, patiently holding your tongue, even when things seem unfair? Just think about how long-suffering the Lord is with us. In 2 Peter 1:5–7, we are given a list of things to cultivate in ourselves: “Giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love.” Self-control and perseverance—patience, in other words—lead to love, and that is the primary thing that Christians are supposed to exemplify. The next time you find yourself being an Elizabeth Bennett, instead take Mr. Darcy’s route."
