One turn takes about 24-hours to complete (as every other nation also submits their orders), and for every single minute I am fretting over whether Turkey or Italy will be the first to back stab me.
Its a great strategy game if you don't value your stress levels.
Do you SketchUp? What have you made?
I am getting back into it because I need to scratch my engineering itch....
Shout out to for the share
Everything in Australia is trying to kill you. We all know that. Australians drink a lot of beer, this is how we stay alive. Everyone knows that.
What foreigners seldom realise about Australian beer is not that we don't drink Fosters (we don't - everyone knows that); it's that in trying to order a beer in Australia, one might end up dead. From confusion.
When ordering a beer, you might ask for a Pint. Which is 568ml in New South Wales, Victoria, Western Australia and Tasmania, but a Pint in South Australia is only 425ml, and Queenslanders don't serve them at all.
In Queensland, if you want what is called a Pint in SA, you'll get a Schooner, which is what it's called everywhere, except Tasmania, where they don't have it.
A Schooner in South Australia is 285ml, but this is called a Middy in NSW and WA, a Pot in Vic , Tas and QLD, or a Handle in NT.
If you order a Glass of beer in QLD, you get 225ml (but this is called an Eight in Tas, and not available anywhere else. A Glass is only 200ml in Victoria and WA, but it's called a Seven in NSW and NT, but a Butcher in SA.
You can order a small beer in Vic, which is 170ml, but that is called a Bobbie in WA and just a "beer" in Tasmania. A small beer in Queensland is only 140ml, but it's called a pony everywhere else, except for the Northern Territory who don't have that size, and Tasmania, who call a small beer 115ml, which is called a "Shetland pony" in WA.
Just order a Jug. a Jug is 1140ml (40oz) in every state, and it's a fairly good size for a glass of beer. Also, you look really classy drinking from one.
I saw this a few years ago & it seems to be making the rounds again.
Favorite line: "Germany rolls up its sleeves, looks at France, and punches Belgium."
An excellent talk about whether we should bring the concept of Duty of Care to media and political debate.
PollBludger tries to aggregate all the different polls (Newspoll, Essential, ReachTEL, Nielson) to try and give a snapshot of voting intention.
This does not take into account the current ReachTEL result (53-47 Labor).
In my spare time I follow the robotics, open source and makers communities. I've hacked, ripped apart and played with many electronic devices.
I also love to be active. I don't care what the sport or activity is, just as long as I get my adrenaline rush. I don't really follow sports, though; I would rather participate than watch.
When I am not following technology trends or playing sports, I like to offer my own uneducated opinions on the state of the world.
