lol! Backpaccker pantry stuff in general is terrible. I've tried several different brands, and mountain house is #1, which is probably why most stores carry at least that brand. Not sure why on the Pantry ones because they're all terrible of the ones i've tried (their deserts however are absolutely delish!).
question: how often did you use your snow shoes? I"m going backpacking in the Rockies in Feb and i was going to rent some, but i've seen a few videos, and a lot of people take them, usually just use microspikes.
+Bruce Johnson The thermal sheet is basically the same as those common plastic tarps with a foil layer. I found it online through Amazon. See Stansport Sportsmans Polarshield Emergency Blanket. Hope this helps.
great vid! I'd seen this product before ,but hadn't look at reviews. this was a wonderful, hands on, in-the-field use review, and was very helpful and informative. I might actually try this out on my winter Colorado Rockies trip as my primary shelter as it's cheap, light, and made for winter use.
Thank you Derek for the review! I have the big brother of the filter, which i've only tried once, and thought it was OK. the problem i had you addressed in the review by using a ziplock for slow moving water. genius, simple, and cheap. Thanks!
Go here all the time as is right down the street. Great ve parity if different stuff. Always good food. Sometimes the service isn't 190%, but it's generally great.
They're home brewed root beer is fantastic. If you like sushi, they have the Ahi Tuna Poke. It's very good.
I like their California Burger a lot too.
