A week after the December Storm surge the effects can still be seen of the devastating effect it had on the Suffolk Coast. Walking up the coast from Sizewell to Dunwich Heath there is evidence to suggest that another couple of inches on the height of the tide would have had major consequences for the whole of Minsmere and the area around the Sizewell NPP.

This link displays the strom surge damage to the shingle bank in front of Salthouse on the North Norfolk Coast - this has effectively cut off the Norfolk Coast Path. Quite amazing what damage this has done
