Did you know that on this day in 1988 Taca Flight 110 had to make an emergency landing?

MSY inside is now mapped for all of the Android users out there. Thanks to the Google team that came down and mapped out the building.

You asked for it; now we have updated pricing at our concessions. Some products saw drastic drops. At Air Dog, Cajun Dogs were $7.50, now they are $4.46. An iced coffee (tall) was $4.31, now its $2.96. A 5 piece strips at Popeys’ was $9.00, now it is $8.04. A domestic bottle of beer at Pampy’s Live Oak Bar was $6.25, now it will cost you $3.75.

Due to poor weather in the Houston area we are seeing delays. For up to the minute information please check with your airline.

Named after a famed jazz singer, this airport serves the Gulf Coast & offers free WiFi.- Google
"Good but not many options to choose for filling of stomach."
"Generally sub par communication from staff and signage about what's going on."

I've never had a bad experience here. Some concourses are nicer (have more to offer in terms of dining, shopping, relaxing, etc...) than others but they are all fine. I think things are run well here administratively and all my experiences with the various staff members have been good.

I live in the New Orleans area and after a week of travel I realize that our airport is FILTHY. Starting with the gangway carpet that looks like frat house carpet with drink stains and God knows what else. It ends with the vinyl flooring in baggage looking dirty and very scuffed. Oh, and all the gum on the concrete right outside baggage claim. I know we can do better, how about we try?

This airport has seen better days and it’s very encouraging that the city is opening a brand new facility within the next two years. Most frustrating is the disjointed nature of the facility - no post-security connections between terminals, so you’re limited to the pier/terminal of your flight (some of which have very lackluster food options). On the plus side, security is generally pretty quick (and the TSA pre-check line has virtually no wait — unlike SFO, LAX, etc.) Also, the live music in baggage claims is pretty cool.

I usually find myself passing through security here in the evening...Each time so far, the lines move very quickly.

Tough to rate an airport since there are so many different facets that go into an airport experience. What I can say is that Spirit luggage check-in was quick, and the gentlemen behind the counter was pretty witty. Then, changing our seat with the desk at the gate was simple and there are plenty of wall outlets for a last minute charge. =]

I travel for a living, and I can honestly say that this airport is one of the worst I've encountered. TSA Pre Check doesnt actually seem to be in operation (aside from a separate line to scan the boarding pass). At any time, around half of the restrooms are out of service. The food options are absolutely abysmal. Rental cars are hard to find. The entire airport is dark, dirty, and smelly. I'm so glad to hear that the city is investing in building a new passenger terminal, because the one they have is embarrassing.

I booked a 5am flight out of this airport and decided to arrive early due to long lines during TSA checking. I was highly disappointed to find out they did not open the area until 4am and my boarding time was 4:30a. I overheard a man on the walkie tell the workers to hurry up and open since some people had an early flight. Another eldely flyer was upset about a broken soda machine she came across. They need to do better. Worst airport experience.

The airport got a renovation until the new airport is built. But it has the basic amenities such as stores, restaurants and drinks to grab. Lines can get very long on certain days depending on what is going on in town. So do plan to get to the airport well in advance. Another great I like is that they play live music occasionally.
