The saddest times right here.

Daily chart: Roe v Wade was supposed to settle the question of abortion's legality in America. It has done anything but. In practice, access to abortion providers is limited for many Americans, according to the Guttmacher Institute. In 2008, over a third of women ages 15-44 lived in a county without an abortion provider. Today’s chart is on America’s restrictions on abortions http://econ.st/18iGR2d

Obama is essentially going to be Millard Fillmore, a president with nothing of note to his legacy, if he can't pick it up over the next three years. I challenge someone to tell me about something Obama had tried to put through that he DIDN'T bend on. This includes healthcare. I will never call his reform that other word.

Dear Mississippi, I already don't go to your state because it reminds me of my ancestors' oppression. I'm glad that you've only reinforced this feeling by allowing people to be openly strapped.

This was a case that skipped through last week. It may be one of the worst decisions in recent memory. A word of note: always say you wish to invoke your fifth amendment right and never talk to cops about crimes unless they have a warrant.

Been listening to this today. Actually know these kids from points elsewhere. Different from the first release, but it is a little more engaging because of it.

Wimbledon charts. Tourney's already crazy. It's awesome.

Daily chart: Wimbledon, the third major tennis tournament of the year, starts today. This year Andy Murray could become the first British men's champion since 1936. Yet he is competing during perhaps the most impressive era of the men's game. Today's chart gives a comparison of men's and women's tennis grand-slam records http://econ.st/14tkRMQ

The only reason to live in Saudi Arabia is now gone. It's a real tragedy. Just kidding. Our relationship with their oppressive regime for the sake of oil is the real tragedy.

I read the reviews on the internet about how this hotel is located in a sketchy neighborhood, etc. and thought it can't really be that bad. It is and isn't. It is because you will be surrounded by a high number of addicts. Additionally, pretty much everything you'll walk by will smell like stale urine. While both of these things are true, they are pretty much harmless. In general, I don't like walking through addicts because they are unpredictable and that puts me on edge. Regardless of violent potential, it's still really troubling to know that you will leave a beautiful part of Vancouver (read: a lot of other parts of the city like the beaches or the west end or central downtown) and have to walk through skid row to get back to this hotel. For someone like myself who has only been to Vancouver once, this is not a good first impression to get of this city because it does offer considerably more than this hotel's neighborhood would suggest. The hotel itself is very clean, cheap, and tolerable. The rooms are not air-conditioned, so if that's a dealbreaker for you, look elsewhere. I didn't know this, so I was rather surprised when I walked into a hot room on the 5th floor. On the other hand, I have a oscillating fan and clear view of downtown from my window. By the way, it's really beautiful. When I checked in, I noticed that the clerk charged my credit card for 300 dollars, which raised my suspicion because my room will only cost 2/3rds of that amount total. I asked him about this, and he proceeded to explain that the part not used will be refunded back to me. While this is acceptable as I will get my money back, I would highly encourage the hotel to change this policy as it unnecessarily handicaps travelers who are traveling on budgets (like myself and pretty much anyone else who would check into this hotel). There is apparently a continental breakfast here. I left for breakfast at around 9.30 AM, so if it is real, I don't know where it is nor was I informed about it when I checked in. The wi-fi is spotty and is not particularly strong throughout the building. The water closet is, literally, a closet. It even has a closet door. That's a little bit weird to be perfectly honest. To summarize, the neighborhood of the hotel sucks and the hotel itself is not a dream in the slightest. That said, if you can deal with both of those things, you will get a very, very good deal for being in a downtown (it's about 1 km away) hotel. I would encourage anyone who would like to stay here and go out at night to have a travel buddy for the reasons that I noted above with the addicts. Maybe I've gotten soft over the years, but I don't want to watch through this neighborhood at night alone. I don't think that other solo travelers would want to either.

This is a perpetually disappointing grocery store. Whenever I go to this store, I usually can't find half of what I actually want on my list. As a lifelong user of grocery stores, this one makes less than zero sense organizationally. I just don't get it. The literal only upside of this hy-vee is the fact that it is open 24 hours...like the other two hy-vees in town which are much, much better. This is my closest hy-vee and I choose to go to one farther away because this one is so weak.

It's very quick, and it's nice having a hot sandwich place in downtown Iowa City. I've never been disappointed with what I've gotten from there. The sandwiches hit the spot. The only thing that it could do that I would like is to deliver. But, really, that's only a minor complaint in the grand scheme of the world.

This is my preferred hy-vee. It's not perfect, but it's not overwhelming like the waterfront and the produce is light years better than north dodge. Customer service here is also very good.
