Giant Robot Presents: 20 Pieces of Dreams
An Exhibition by Mari Inukai and Special Guests

In Japan, a 20th Birthday is a “Coming of Age” birthday. It includes ceremonies and parties, and it’s akin to becoming 21 in the US. We’ll be celebrating Mari Inukai’s Daughter, Sena’s birthday on October 27th at Giant Robot 2 in West LA.

The Exhibition will feature:

Mari Inukai, Sena Inukai +amy sol +Audrey Kawasaki +EDWIN USHIRO +Elizabeth Ito Fumi Omori, Katsuya Terada, Kent Williams, Sean Chao +stella hultberg +tessar sebastian lo and Yoskay Yamamoto

An opening reception for Mari Inukai, Sena and Friends will take place from 6:30 – 10:00 PM on Saturday, October 27th.

I must agree with them. +Eric Nakamura was instrumental in bringing this movement to Los Angeles. Legions of artists, from students to pros, have been inspired by the artists celebrated by Giant Robot over the last (nearly two!) decades, and the art world has changed forever. And for the better.
Eric broke art free from the very closed, have to know someone world we saw flourish in NYC...GR made it exciting again...it wasn't a "scene", it was
the real thing, and the cool kids gave way to the kids who stayed up drawing night after night for decades.
